It really depends on who the Chiefs get with our 2nd rounder which will probably be around #45-50 overall. You have to wait and see what kind of career and impact he has with the Chiefs.

Well, I'm projecting *what kind of player* that would be available in the 2nd round. But you are right, the final *real* evaluation would be when they pick using the 2nd rounder we gave them, and then wait for that 2nd rounder to develop (or not as the case may be in 2+ years). But that's too long a time for me to not judge *value* and so I"m looking at the 2nd rounders' that Kyle has had and picked, I think we could have used a 2nd rounder on an edge rusher next year - of course, that means we don't have Ford this year. Considering we might be a playoff team, Dee Ford will really be priceless in the playoffs -- **IF** we make the playoffs, **AND** if Ford remains relatively healthy given his bum knee.

To me, Dee Ford has given us a glimpse into the perfect D-line and I really mean that, in terms of the blends of skillsets. Think about all of the different things this team can do with that line of Ford-Buckner-AA-Bosa. I'm convinced we need to keep brnging in speed rushers to complement the other guys.

So awesome when Ford and Bosa meet in the middle.
He will be the difference maker in the big games; mark my words

I cant wait to see them meet with Russel Midget in the middle. hopefully adding a strip sack or safety in addition to giving him tickets to a front row seat in the blue tent.

He is going to have the most important offseason of his career.

As I said, cortisone is a hell of a drug. He'll miss a lot of practice this season, but not a lot of game time unless he gets injured, which can happen to anyone.

It's a pain condition more than a performance limiting one.

Yes, chronic inflammation can degrade collagen, which may increase risk of rupture. On the other hand, JG blew his ACL ducking out-of-bounds. Never know what'll happen.

His knee will probably bother him the rest of his life. Dude has 85 million reasons to deal w/it in the meantime.

They all end up w/CTE anyway.

Eric Branch has been myopically obsessed with Ford's knee condition since the season started. He's written at least 4 different articles about it. Why is he the only beat writer doing this? Like just get the hell over it already, dude.

Now that's pain tolerance.

Count me as one fan that's also obsessed with Fords bum knee.
This dude is a tough guy, and alpha male, he's an old school dude that will play through the worst of it, and still look good. That's what the best players do, and lots of the best play through injuries you usually don't hear about until the end of the year. At least Dee is man enough to admit it now so nobody gives him an excuse.

I don't know how many articles he's written about it. But this issue is a pretty big deal when you consider his role, his contract and the chronic nature of the injury. It's not like he's writing about a broken finger ad nauseam.

Not sure how more clearly I can explain why the concern is overstated, but I have a feeling you'll continue to debate this into the ground based on the WebMD article you read.

It's an inflammatory pain condition. That's why God made cortisone.

It does not affect joint stability, should not be performance limiting (obviously, given his performance to date), and whatever nominal elevation in relative injury risk his condition might promote is overshadowed by the absolute injury risk of being a professional football player.

Agree. That's why I hope and pray ShanaLYnch drafts another edge rusher next year before Dee Ford's knee gives out.

If Blair and AA keep balling out, we got all the rush we need (and all we can afford lol)

Like I said, Ford's knee is undoubtably painful, but there's no reason to believe the joint isn't stable. It's tendonitis, not Ligamentitis
