Awful reason. Why not just wait until rookie contract expires? Poor Deebo, gets to play in Super Bowls and nfc championships but isn't good enough because it's not with an East coast team

These are the kinds of things that make it hard for teams to maintain greatness. It often seems to be WRs that are the guys that want more touches, more playing time or more money. Look at all the great WRs that have been traded or let go in recent years mostly for financial reasons.

DeAndre Hopkins, Tyreek Hill, Odell Beckham, Stefon Diggs, DaVante Adams, Amari Cooper and several others that were good but not great. It seems like they're never happy. Definitely the prima donna's of the league.

Doesn't help that every draft, there seem to be a boat load of guys that seem really good. Just look at all these guys that are running 4.3 40 times these days.

I feel like its bigger than ever this year. Seems questionable to me if they want to rush and pay this guy top money after 1 good season
The problem is drafting the right WR...which has been a struggle with the 49ers. There haven't been too many great WR drafted by the 49ers since TO. Plenty of them didn't pan out...lol did some research and found this list since TO at this link (Grant Cohn warning) https://www.si.com/nfl/49ers/news/the-23-wide-receivers-the-49ers-drafted-between-terrell-owens-and-deebo-samuel

  23. Richie James Jr. (Round 7, 2018). Pro Bowls with the 49ers: 0.

Its true. Historically, we have not been great at scouting receivers. But that being said, I have faith that Aiyuk will take that next step. I trust Kyle to draft a top receiver as long as he isn't soft like Pettis if we're in a good position to do so. Problem with Pettis wasn't talent, it was all mental.

Also, I think measuring pro bowls isn't fair to this team, especially in the last decade. Everyone knows we're a run first team dating all the way back to the Harbaugh days, and we want receivers that can block. Ironically, Deebo got his all-pro because he started rushing with the ball. He wasn't even awarded it for being a traditional receiver, like he allegedly wants to be.
WRs also need a QB to throw them the ball

No. Mostert and Gould did the same thing

No. He's gonna be a 49er next year and for years to come.
Send Deevah on his way. Bye-bye.
Deebo is on the books for 3.9M this year now why would the 9ers let him go when the 9ers can contend for the SB this year with Trey and why would he go to the Jets for example and suck there and when they aren't going to give up at least 2 first round picks and 25+M a year and a bunch of guaranteed money.

Not happening, he won't be traded, no team wants to give up all that and take a high risk on him. He either hold out and stay home and lose 3.9M and watch BA explode with Trey (losing more value and leverage in the long run) or take whatever 9ers give him after Jimmy G is dumped. Furthermore if DK Metcalf and AJ brown takes less than 25M a year before him, deebo has even less room for negotiation later on.

Sounds like we've gotten beyond that initial non-conversation (Paraag's "massacre" trail balloon) and there's a real number on the table so everyone can backtrack. LOL

LOL yes, I mean its always about the money, but I found Sims and Florios talk interesting. And Sims basically found out two things - It's not the money and its delicate beyond that..... It could simply be he wants to be closer to home, but he doesn't realize he has no choice at this point in his career.

LOL. I don't want to live in rural Alaska (not that there's anything wrong with that at all, I'm sure it's super beautiful) but if you pay me $100M to do it, well damn where do I find a good parka and when's the earliest I can leave???

I'll bring the beer bro. Unfortunately these gifted athletes don't realize it's a perishable skill and it gets to their heads.

Oh I think they do which is why, especially in the NFL more than any other sport, you have to maximize your earnings when you can, while you can. I don't blame players AT ALL relative to what owners are making not to mention most of their forums are taxpayer subsidized.

Agreed, but IF its really not the money , but it's just him wanting to be closer to home, it's not happening lol

I don't believe it one bit. Most of these guys don't call SF home outside of during the season. You don't like the idea of not being able to be close to your family…well move them close to you or don't play a professional sport
This is he natural order of things in a cap environment. Paying huge contracts heavy with guaranteed money to a player more subject to injury than most is a gamble. Weak teams like the Texans or the Jets can afford that gamble because they don't have as much talent elsewhere they need to protect, and they need splash players to attract fans and other free agents. Top teams like the Niners are always up against the cap, and must continually convert high salaries to rookie contracts to keep competitive. You pick your battles. The top two most important positions on the team are the quarterback and the guy to rush the quarterback. Bill Walsh said you invest in a wide reciever when you have every other position filled first, and true to his word, he drafted Jerry Rice only After he'd won two Super Bowls. Is Deebo valuable? Oh Yes. Is Deebo valuable injured when we're paying him huge dollars? Yeah, in the other direction. Are we going to trade him to the Pack or the Chiefs? Hell no. They're where the benefit is on the other side of the trade, and that's what they've done. And I expect we'll follow suit.

I agree our list of qb weren't very good during some of that time frame. However, I'd struggle to say any of those wr went to a different team and had success.
So he's getting paid millions to play a game and is complaining that he isn't where he wants to be? I don't buy it. He looked pretty damn happy to be a niner in the Dallas game. He's getting the stats under Shanahan.

This is about something else.
deebo wish he was tyreek Hill LOL, yet he hasn't proven it yet for the long run and Hill has, plus how physical he plays.

Therefore no 30M+ for him and no multiple firsts to trade for him from ANY TEAM.

No chance, not happening, he can wait till Jimmy G is gone and sign a new deal with the 9ers or stay home and lose 3.9M and loses more leverage, money and time while getting less and less. 9ers have ALL the leverage Here that's why 9ers aint saying jack plus BA could easily explode this season as the new #1 WR with Trey.
