I'm not sure any receiver wants to play RB. Taking on all those unnecessary hits when they could be making big plays down field.

Ah but that's what makes Deebo different and why teams are trying to find WRs like him. Seems like he wants something that isn't his strength. As a pure WR he's not Adams, Hill, or even Diggs. On top of that not too many other teams can scheme him for the kind of productivity that Kyle does.

I blame the FO for this. They should have extended him a long time ago, instead of their BS stance on not extending people until July. This did NOT have to come to this. Now, just what I thought, we'll have to franchise him. He's too important to this offense to trade him. Plus, we're not in a very good draft position to replace him in the draft. And given this news, no way are we gonna get fair value for him. So tagging him is our best option.

The 49ers have handled this situation terribly.

I wonder if all the loser fans harassing him has anything to do with it

See this is defensive mode thinking. We could all sit back and be like "Well maybe it isn't the worst thing..." But it is. He was everything to our offense and with a promising youg/mobile QB in Trey he could have been even more. Plus with Trey we may not even need to use Deebo as a RB.

To me it's a losers mentality to find positives when your best player wants out.

I get that feeling and understand 100%. Our only legit options other than trade are just tag and ride him and tell him to suck it up. Unknown here is he could be disgruntled on an AB / OBJ level and make the entire locker room a living hell to force a resolution. We would have to be willing to accept this risk if we go that route. If he refuses to put pen to paper and sign we can't force him to. Trade may be the best play. At the end of the day the free part in FA we can't force him to be a Niner forever if he doesn't want it.

It might be. I don't know the name of the tweet author, or his source. Deebo has zero leverage. Less than zero. So, his threat is that he will sit the year. Then he will kiss a year of paychecks, and he will be in the same boat next off season with the 49ers in total control. Brilliant.

Also, is there another hanger on sibling riding the coattails of his famous brother (Jackson M says hi). He'll be doing lame dances on Tik Tok in no time 😂
