Let's say we set the market with him… give him more than any non-qb. If he replicates his 2019 season for the next two years due to injury,
or some other unforeseen circumstance….will we have made the right move by paying him?
I only ask because injury is more than likely when a player gets used as much we use Deebo, especially in the manner we use him.
It's a question worth asking

Unbelievable. !!!!! Just pay the man and get this over with. All NFL players run the risk of being hurt. That doesn't stop the Rams from signing players at a dizzying rate. Last year they signed OBJ who has a long history of getting hurt. Only thing he did was help them get over the top and win a championship. If the niners are serious about winning a chip, sign the man. !!!!!!![]()

good point
He's literally one of the best players in the league. There is no direct replacement.
Some people deep down inside don't want to see these young athletes get paid for playing a gladiator sport while the owners sit back and rake in the cash. The rams just built a 5 billion dollar stadium and had plenty of help from the NFL to build it. The point is ... The NFL is a big money business. The 9ers are taking a chance of losing there best player because of a few million dollars here or there that they probably will recoup easily when all the tv money the NFL will soon reap becomes a reality. The NFL is not for the meek and shy. you have to be bold. Who knows, Deebo may never get hurt another day in his life, but we need him now to win another ring. Get it done niners or be a second class franchise.

49ers should fire Parag Marathe. I've had it with this diva front office. This front office think they're so clever with their outdated moneyball charts and data. They need someone managing the cap with a little more football sense.

Nah. He's not going anywhere. He'll be extended before the season begins. Stay patient.
I feel like the other day you were panicking calling him childish, now I'm the one with the doom and gloom and you're comforting me. 🥰
we'll get through this together.

He's not going anywhere. Its going to be one of those "omg both sides arent budging the world is ending" BS sagas and then a deal gets made a few weeks later and everyone is happy. It happens all across the league with every team, see A-aron.

JL runs the show. JL does not sit down and write out the legalese of the contract. PM does that. We happen to be very well managed from a cap standpoint. Not one of these random clown teams that is $100m over every offseason.

I have nothing factual to say, other than I personally can't stand the sports analytic type like Paraag Marathe in the front office men getting too much power in the football decision making process. I can't stand supporting teams that look competitive but don't win anything like the Oakland Athletics.

Not to threadjack, but I am terrified that is what the Giants are turning into with Farhan and the way he runs things. Would love nothing more than to be wrong, but yeah.

Giants won 107 and I'm glad they didn't get stupid and sign Story for $140m. They are doing ok. I have to say I have total faith in JL and KS plus Jed all 3 of the top decision makers in the game. They will get it sorted I guarantee it.

So essentially the 49ers would rather pay Jimmy 28 mil to be backup QB than our best player on the team at the same price.... sounds like a 49er thing to do. I am sure that is how Deebo is feeling and why he is pissed. I hope Deebo holds out and doesn't step foot on a practice field until he is signed.

Let's get real the $27m was put on paper before Deebo was even in the league lol... and they are trying like mad to get JG off the club via trade...
