The question is if that's Deebo's demand what do we do?

I mean what team is gonna pay him that much AND trade a for him? No one that's who.

Disagree with this. Why would a talent poor club like NYJ not pay him a blank check? They were in on trading and signing Hill. They would get Deebo to in the ballpark of Hill money imo.

Not advocating for a trade, but I am willing to listen to offers.

Yeah there is a price for everything. If Jets offered both their #4 and #10 pick, That would be hard to turn down. We could trade back with both picks and still end up with two 1st RD picks and a bunch of 2nd and 3rd RD picks to go with it. Just for fun I did a mock draft with us having the #4 and #10 pick and these are the players I ended up with after doing a bunch of trade backs.

Tyler Linderbaum
Jalen Pitre
Nic Bonitto
Christian Watson
Kenneth Walker 111
Dylan Parham
Kerby Joseph
Calvin Austin 111
Marcus Jones
Zach Tom

Why in the world would they offer the 4th and 10th overall pick? They didn't even offer a 1st let alone two for Hill...

Joe Douglas offered the 35th, 38th and 69th picks in exchange for Hill and the 103rd pick, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Nice knowing you Deebo
Deebo's historic season was largely due to the 49ers over reliance on him due to injuries at running back and no other true WR threat. Of course he had the talent and delivered in that role, and his build and athleticism allowed that to happen.

HOWEVER…if they pay him on a historic deal they're not gonna run him into the ground like they did for fear of injury. Which, let's not forget, he has a history of that people are forgetting.

I want him here. He single handedly won games and carried the offense. But SF's hope is they won't need him to do that. And they're not paying him next year for what he did last year because it's inconceivable he'll ever do something like that ever again in his career.

Because its the era of social media. And WRs are historically known to be prone to diva behavior. Diva Samuel. Lol.

Literally this is the only thing players can do now...they can't holdout anymore because of the CBA.

Kid wants to get paid....I don't blame him. Why is SF acting like a baby and not spending money? Next to nothing in FA, got a QB on a rookie contract, and you got half the league making moves to improve.

Tired of waiting for Jimmy to go away.
i dont see how this comes to a positive ending, in the past if a player act like this it hasn't played out well(correct me if im wrong) are the Jets giving us #10 overall or what?

sucks!
If we really want to keep him and he's asking for highest receiver pay, then you tag him this year and bid for him next year since it'll take the highest WR salary to retain him anyways. Or if we don't think he's ever worth the highest receiver pay, then trade him for a Tyreek Hill like deal this year. We shall see.

I was just using that as an example that everybody has a price. If somebody wants to overpay, You have to consider it.

Huh? he lead the league in YPR (18.3), what do you mean no other true WR threat? Brandon Aiyuk most certainly didn't suck this past yr and Kittle is still Kittle.

It's not like he was force fed the ball as a WR either...he was 23rd in targets.

When he touches the ball good things happens, whether as a receiver or runner.

Pay the dude and let's move on to Bosa...there's no reason to have a starting QB on a rookie contract and not spend money in FA if you're not gonna pay your young all-pros.

Want him here too without a doubt would be almost disastrous to move on while breaking in a new QB.

We seem backed into a corner tho as we admit the usage has to come down to be sustainable, yet he will want to be paid I imagine based on that usage it's what is driving his market value sky high. So basically we are paying sky high for what he did last year then saying don't do that anymore

You don't have to tag him this year. He's under contract for 1 more year.
