We've been lining up Deebo due to a lot of a lack of depth at RB. I imagine that if we had Mostert, Mitchell, and Wilson healthy all year long... we probably never would've had Deebo at RB. We'd probably have a lot more jet sweeps and screens for him though.
I don't agree. Kyle loves versatile players to exploit personnel matchups. He was always going to use Deebo like this. Not to mention that Deebo was running plays out of the backfield last year as well.
Let me rephrase... I feel we had Deebo at RB as more of a necessity, and then Aiyuk was emerging as a WR that we trust to win one-on-one match-ups. What I'm asking is... do you think in the long run, Deebo would have more snaps at RB than the occasional 2 or 3 snaps? In other words... with a healthy stable of RB's, should the playbook evolve to feature Deebo at RB 10-15 snaps a game?
Deebo is an awesome GADGET player... so the longer you keep him on one position, the lesser he may be effective... I doubt that he's built to run the ball by design 17x per game... sure he may gain 200 yards in one game but I also doubt that he can be a pure RB..
