They can't unless he plays more snaps at RB than WR, which isn't happening, plus he won't get tagged IMO, the 49ers have done the right thing with recent picks like Kittle & Warner, extend them before their last yr of their deal is up.

I suspect we will be extending Deebo this offseason. I agree with you they did the right thing with Warner and Kittle. I can't wait until your breakdown of what options the team can do to keep the important people, shed the dead weight, as well as what hard pills we will have to swallow in terms of contracts. It's crazy how for so long we had tons of cap space and it got eaten up quickly. A lot of that was centered around we didn't have anyone that was worth extending/giving a big contract to. Now we have multiple players that are at or near the top of the class at their position.

This is the way. Keep the stars, replace the complimentary players. Add in the underperforming guys if someone will trade for them.

And about drafting receivers, definitely more hits than misses now than before. I can easily see some person bringing up Pettis and Hurd.

Poor interior D-line play has more to do with that. If Kinlaw becomes a stud then Warner will be back to superstar.

Poor interior D-line play has more to do with that. If Kinlaw becomes a stud then Warner will be back to superstar.

This would make more sense if a Rookie LB wasn't out there out playing him for large parts of the game behind the same line. I believe Warner will bounce back but there is no excuse for his play this season.

Warner even said earlier this year that he wasn't playing to his standards and needs to step up. So there is that too.

What rookie linebacker? I do think Warner will bounce back as well. Otherwise, Greenlaw and Azeez are ready and waiting.

You're right many teams are Able to keep their best players all we have to do is lock them on to longer-term contracts and be able to restructure them as well.

You're right many teams are Able to keep their best players all we have to do is lock them on to longer-term contracts and be able to restructure them as well.

Id actually argue the Chiefs had less key players than we do. But they have two guys that are exceptional (Hill and Mahommes), with Mahommes being exceptional at the most important position.
