It's because the downside of pass catchers who get yards after contact like RB's is that they have injuries and short careers like RB's. So it's best to spread that load.

We should have drafted a WR higher. At this point, that's indisputable.

The speedster in that draft is going to be in prison for life, I'm glad we too Aiyuk

Claypool was my guy too but I get it, Aiyuk was 1st or 2nd in YAC. As Kyle said, only CeeDee Lamb was equal or better after the catch.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but isn't Aiyuk more of a speed guy?
Hopefully the fans will see more of that speed as the season moves forward.
Not seeing the speed.

Look, I like Aiyuk too. But for anyone to say "I'm glad we took Aiyuk" when Ceedee Lamb was there for the taking is doing nothing other than homering out for our guy. It was the wrong pick at the time, and its absolutely the wrong pick in hindsight.
Kittle, Deebo and Lamb would be the best 3 man group of weapons in the NFL.

I don't even see Chase on that list. Per the link:
Deebo 16
Justin Jefferson 13.7
Davante Adam's 13.3
Cooper Kupp 13.2
Weird. When I click on the link, he is the 9th player on the list.

We could have drafted that dude from Washington In 2019, Instead of Hurd.

LMy would still only catch checkdowns and Aiyuk would be getting used as a real WR so situation is everything

I think you could have drafted *anybody* from the 4th round and lower and still come off better than Hurd. At least they would have been camp bodies and helped in drills before being put on the practice squad or cut. Jalen was injured from the git-go and never really contributed to the team at all in his 3 years.

Deebo looks faster than ever before. He has like whole 'nother gear this season. He's making DK become an afterthought. Also, doesn't come with all the diva baggage.

As we suspected, the presence of Eman Sanders as a vet was good for our young receivers in 2019. Deebo just confirmed. Even at half a year. Hopefully Deebo can be the leader and pass it on to Aiyuk
