People really making more out of Deevah than needs to be. He had one great year, and has been a disappointment since getting overpaid. He didn't "Carry the team", though it could be said he helped carry Jimmy G. Deevah could catch those slants or screens (his only good routes) which were the best things Jimmy could throw, and the RAC ability made them both look better. That's why Deevah was always going to be a better help to Jimmy that to Purdy. Since Jimmy has been gone and Purdy took over, Deevah's attitude has gotten steadily worse. His complaints about his usage were because he knew he couldn't run routes as well as Aiyuk or Pearsall, and Kyle wasn't manufacturing the touches like before because Purdy didn't need the crutch. Coming into camp overwight and out of shape, complaining about touches during team wins, celebrating his good game while the team lost - all signs he checked out long before now.
And he may have a good year next season. Playing with a QB that is a threat to run, so facing a lot of zone...but more importantly, trying to play for one more new contract. But watch him fall right back into his subpar ways the year after, and be done.

That's why Deebo wanted a trade, not only did we draft his replacement but Ricky has swag. First thing he did before stepping on the practice field with his whole life ahead of him was fight a guy with a gun at point blank over a watch when he's going to be making millions anyway. Got shot survived and kept his watch, came back showing up on the field. Deebo couldn't handle not being the #1 swag.
This might be one of the strangest takes ever. So deebo demanded a trade b/c his teamate has swag? The whole league has several players per team with swag
It might sound strange...but I think Since07 has something. Perhaps saying its because his teammate has swag is not quite right. I think it's because no matter what he did, Deebo was not going to outshine Ricky and his "not backing down from a gunman and then showing up on the practice field and being ready to go in weeks". I don't think Deebo's ego could take it.
The entire stadium booed Deebo when he dropped that pass that likely cost us the game. On the other hand everyone cheered Slick Rick's 1st catch upon his return and stepped up later in the season. Add in the rise of Juan Jennings, Deebo knew his swag #1 days were over here…

Financial recalibration = Rebuild
Lombardi is the worst. He's such a dweeb and tries his hardest to make everything look like the 49ers hit a homerun in whatever decision they made.
This. Dude's an arrogant child. Picks on fans who disagree with him. He's the homer version of Grant Cohn.
So true. I've heard him call fans idiotic and worse, and screams "I told you so" every time he gets something remotely right. I don't know how anyone can stand him.
Here's a prime example. Dude is so far up his own ass that he can wear himself as a hat…

The money part doesn't matter. SF was on the hook either way cap wise. So eat the cap space this yr and be done with it (and get a pick) or spread it out between this yr and next.
Looks like they'll still have some dead money next year as well. That's the price with adding all those void years.

thank you for everything Deebo.
My whole house would yell DEEEBOOOOO when he broke a big one.
was a big part of the playoff runs.
Last year KS ran out of ideas for him and continued the most obvious bubble screens that most of league has figured out how to limit.
It was time.
Best of luck in Washington.

That guy is such an embittered douche bag. I've never seen another content creator talk as much s**t to his subscribers as him.

i don't think it does, i think it accelerates to the year he leaves

I wish him the best but honestly I am surprised we were able to even get a 5th for him. Even if his salary was nothing, I still think we would be better off going forward without him.

It's not just the fact that he's an a*****e. His analysis is bad as well.

I also think this is correct. We eat the cost now to save next year.

I think getting Deebo for a 5th on a one year deal when you're a contending team with a lot of cap space is a nice move. We'll see if he gets a new contract.

Agree we should have canned Shannahan, his offensive mastermind has come and past. We didn't tailor the offense towards #1 Deebo Samuel he needed more targets and should have been better utilized but no we had to make Jauan Jennings make those crazy catches and scheme Ricky open.
