I drafted Rodgers in the 9th round of my fantasy draft and I still have no idea if I reached or got a steal.

It was just a contrived example to illustrate the point. I'm sure they offered him a fair contract, but without seeing the details, we don't know if they offered him a great contract.

Remember when Kaepernick signed his extension after his rookie contract? It was $126M (at the time a record, iirc) and broke lots of "records", but in reality it was like a series of team options because of how little of it was guaranteed. Again, I'm not saying the Packers tried to screw Rodgers, I'm just cautioning against digesting flashy language like "highest paid" because it a lot of times it is very misleading.

Lol an I guess I lied. It was the 8th round not 9th. And I had the 12th pick in the draft so technically it was the first pick in the 8th.
