Not happening.
30 year old safety coming off a broken leg. Whining about getting paid in Seattle, giving his teammates the finger. That's not a Lynch guy.
This draft is loaded with ball hawking safeties.
Johnathan Abram
Juan Thornill
Chauncey Gardner-Johnson
Nasir Adderly
2nd round will be a perfect spot to get a safety.

Did anybody else get a twitter alert that Earl Thomas just started following Maiocco and Barrows on Twitter? At around 12:50?

Seems like we're trying to get a CB to take Witherspoon's snaps away though.
Getting a quality starter opposite Sherman would be nearly as impactful as getting Earl. Our #2 CBs get abused regularly and allow teams to sustain drives. Spoon has shown some things, but he is best served as a dime back and reserve player. Injuries happen and he'll end up getting snaps.
I won't argue this, but I think a semblance of a pass rusher and someone that can play FS in this defense would work better. Our CBs get abused regularly partially because of ability and partially because there is NO pass rush. If I had to pick between below average at corner with Earl Thomas + pass rush verses below average safety + Roby + pass rush, I'll go with the former rather than the latter. With the first scenario, the deep ball is eliminated and corners will not have to cover so long.

Somebody was trolling and photoshopped the iPhone notification to say he was following them.

can't trust anyone not verified these days. hell thats not even a guarantee. All we can do unfortunately is wait until something official happens and its getting us all uncomfortable.

I have not given up hope that either Witherspoon or Moore can develop with new DB coach Woods and ET backing them up. Haley did a horrible job. I would much rather over spend for a 30 yr old ET than an average corner. If the 9ers can generate a pass rush this year these guys might get a lot better.

I'm pretty sure the guys in the film study threads laid out how miscommunications between the FS and CB's led to several big scoring plays in some of our closest games. That stuff literally cost us games last year. Earl fixes all that. Plus, the guy probably had more INT's in his injury shortened year than our entire secondary did all season.
Spend the money.

This. It just don't see the value in adding an average corner and rolling with Colbert, Ward, and Tartt. Can anyone who prefers this explain the logic?

This is so true I have been spouting this for the last few weeks. Earl Thomas will win us one or two more games minimum just him. That is worth 15 million, 17 million, 20 million whatever it takes get this guy he is a difference between making the playoffs and not if Garoppolo is healthy

In the right areas. I think Kwon Alexander was a good start (speed/playmaking ability).
