Not buying that lack of chemistry point of view. Lack of chemistry to the point of not playing seems a stretch. Not all QB and WR teammates have chemistry, they are coached to be on the same page in regards to the playbook. You can't say that JG has chemistry with all other WRs that played on Sunday.
My guess is that they were all more prepared throughout training camp in regards to the playbook and showing up focused everyday. The 49ers have invested a 2nd round pick in Pettis whom was touted as a WR that can play all WR positions and return kicks, compound that with the fact that we were missing 2 WRs to injury tells me that Pettis is in the doghouse for some reason, probably lack of preparation. If I were to tell you pre-training camp that Pettis would have 2 snaps in the game opener you would probably not believe me. He has had more snaps in practice and games than Deebo if you consider 2018 which should contribute to a greater chemistry.
Yup. I totally could buy this stance. I just don't want Hoov thinking I'm pulling crap outta my ass despite the mountains of circumstantial evidence to this point.
My ears were burning lol. Not so much pulling out of your ass per se, just taking liberties with what has actually been said to align with what you believe is happening.
For instance JG says Pettis is very good, but they are working on getting chemistry together. NC says JG says he doesn't trust Pettis.
KS says Pettis is a sponge and easy to teach, but he wants him to work on consistency and be better in traffic. NC says KS says that Pettis has no work ethic or love for the game.
Scouting report out of college states work ethic, student of the game and coachability as strengths. NC says he was concerned with Pettis work ethic and dedication from day 1.
NC says Pettis said that he is afraid to return punts and that Trenton Brown was offered a deal in FA by NE....well these actually do fall under pulling out of ones ass
