So basically the knock on Pettis is physicality and lack of alpha male personality. According to reports, he is a strong route runner, which is probably the most important, can play all three positions and run all of the route in the tree. Seems that his inadequacies are something he can over come except for possibly the personality trait.
All you f**kin talent scouts on here are annoying. I swear you would think you guys travel Tyne country and watch film on these players 24/7. Just because one scout has a player graded somewhere vs another doesn't mean much. These scouts are also looking for players to fit scheme also. I didn't even know this Pettis guy existed, but I like the pick alot. The more I watch his film, I think he can be a very productive WR. He is a natural catcher, has amazing body control, and has the ability to make crazy adjustments on the fly. Hw is fast, but even better then pure speed is his ability to shake coverage.
I'm not a scout. It's just what I see on tape. He will have more time to work out now with 49ers trainers, and focus 100% on his full time career as a football player. People forget these kids in college have to split their time with school as football, which takes away from development some. Now it's 100% go time and the learning curve is steep. We are going to see some if these 2nd year guys start to shine.
Didnt really hear any hype about him but Im excited for him. Highest WR we've drafted in forever. His route running looks badass and I saw him high point a bunch of passes which is what everybody is asking for. You dont have to be 6'3 to win jump balls.
It's cool we have a legit QB who can actually get the most out of him so there's no reason for him not to be able to shine.
The media generalizes a player via group think-how they will do with teams in general and value. They don't look at thing like scheme fit or what the team is looking for in that position. Like the fans they get themselves pigeonholed in their assessment. If the object is a round it can fit in a square as long as it is small enough. Rather it is round and a perfect fit and just needs a little sanding.

Right hand held times vary he's a 4.4 guy plently fast, DJax is faster.
That was 2016, I think 1 year and a half later he is a legit mid to late 4.3 guy. He boasted that he feels he could beat his former team mate Ross's 40 time. Got to like a guy with swag.
