Overall he does have issues with finding proper set points and striking on time. He's never gonna be an elite pass blocker IMO, but he's not a bad as ya'll have been saying.

All those clips are from his rookie year. He's been s**t ever since.

No they actually all aren't but thanks for trying…

I could put together a highlights video for you with McGlinchey whiffing on multiple run plays but I'm too lazy to do it.

Yeah underperforming for his draft status. But his run blocking is above par and as a run first team it is beneficial. Garnett was never beneficial. I do agree he should be held to a higher standard and that's why I am pretty negative about McGlinchey. If he was a 4th round pick I wouldn't say s**t about his performance.

I never thought he was a top 10 talent. I had him as a late 1st early 2nd round prospect. they value length and athletic ability at OT. Like you said they're all about run blocking, which has been something that he's been good at since college.

I got no problem if they go in another direction after this season, I just don't think he blows as much as everyone says.

There's always a good excuse for underperforming players.

Or an explanation. I'm not saying he's an elite RT he's just not as bad as some of you think. I mean I don't even know why I'm having a convo with you about it….you s**t on everything SF. Not much to talk about with that mentality.

You will become more cynical when players say something was mental or a nagging injury was why they didn't perform.

You can do that for every single lineman if you care that much. Again having a convo with you about any of this is a massive waste of time. We all know how you feel about this team that you supposedly root for.

I admit there's a multiplier why I despise McGlinchey. And I used to give him more credit for his run blocking but when Compton came in and performed just as well in run blocking then I got the feeling Kyles system does a lot to help tackles in run blocking.

That's not the only thing he said…he said a lot of is about technique. He spoke to MM about seeing a sports therapist, he didn't blame his shortcomings on that. Did anyone even know he was dealing with a nagging injury? Nope not until he tore his tendon.

We have expectations as fans. Totally get that. You see a bad whiff from a lineman, it sticks in your head and you think he's trash going forward. At least that's how's a good portion of fans see it.

For me it's the constant collapsing of the right side on pass sets when Williams and Tomlinson sides were holding. With Jimmy that's a big deal. With Trey hopefully it's not as ends won't be able to just crash undisciplined.

I think the system helps everyone. Hence why I don't think you need an elite guard to make s**t go.

FWIW Mike allowed a sack one every 128 pass blocking reps. Compton allowed one every 61.5 reps last yr. He wasn't awful and wasn't playing close to 100%. We could do much worse imo but I got no problem going in another direction if he can't improve at all this yr.

Just because I don't think every SF player is an All-Pro?

Is it because I don't consider Shanahan the greatest coach alive or Lynch a Top-3 GM?

Other than McGlinchey and Jimmy, you won't see me s**tting on other 49ers players, so I don't understand why are you questioning my fanhood.

I actually have more concerns about this guy protecting Lance, than I do with Banks or Brendel at center.

There's plenty of truth to this.
