I agree. Brunskill is a better pass blocker in open space. McGlinchey is a better drive blocking run blocker.

I think the only reason people put McGlinchey outside is he is tall. He seems like a Tackle. But he's not natural there IMO.

Yeah they need to try this out even though I'm sure it won't happen bc Kyle sticks with bad players a year too late

They won't do it. But it would be more to the strengths of both players.

Yeah so what is different about our Oline this year? It is still crap. Been that way for at lease 6-7 years

Maybe It comes down to coaching?.

You say it's crap but it's usually ranked 15 or higher. I know we all want every unit and player on the team to be ranked in the top 10 or better but that's not reality. They're better at run blocking but they have been better this season at pass blocking until last Sunday. McGlinchey was torched all day and the rest of the line didn't have a great game either.

Because they only draft lineman that Kyle feels fits his Dad's scheme.

So should he draft linemen that don't fit the scheme? That could be his new plan. Draft a bunch of linemen that aren't suited for his style of offense and then change the offense to fit the linemen. What a great plan.

I think Kyle sees how teams are starting to defend outside zone runs, and drafted Banks to help evolve the run game to have better straight ahead, drive blocking ability. Unfortunately, these are two things Mack and Brunskill do not excel at, but the 49ers are doing more of it this season - and Banks can't beat out Tom Compton.

Anyway, McG struggled against JJWatt. Shocking.

Brunskill has been struggling badly. I wonder if Kyle finally gives Banks his shot after the bye-week esp. if Trey starts as most of his runs will be inside anyhow.
Or they could draft the best lineman and adjust the scheme. I guess you aren't smart enough to think out of the box.

Khalil Mack bout to destroy this clown
PFF is so f**king bad
We need to trade him before the Bears game. Get it done.
How is he rated so high in PFF? Is it his run blocking that skews it so much?

So you end up with a hodge podge of linemen with no specific scheme to design around them? The best lineman this year might not mesh well with the best lineman next year scheme wise.
Finally he had a game without game changing mistakes.....if Mack was playing it might be a different story, although his run blocking is almost always elite
