I was just saying that in another thread. Malcom comes to mind instantly.

Can't defend the Malcolm Smith move all that much, but how do a bunch of injuries cost them their jobs?

You can also add piere garcon to that list. As well as the poor drafts. It's so bad

Sh!tton of money thrown away over the years on scrubs like AA, Ward, M.Smith, Garcon, Garnett, Mabin, Gilliam, Coleman...endless list here. Nobody talks about that but with a few better business moves, this team would have a gazillion dollars in cap space vs. being in the red next year. Lots of dead money.

NC, as the ultimate defender of Trent Baalke, your point of view here is wacky.

He did, literally, the exact same stuff we're doing now with moneyball tactics and wasted money on unproven and broken players. Paraag runs this b***h.

Previous years. Pretty clean next year though.

makes zero sense. Garcon hadn't missed a game in 4 years prior to signing a contract with the Niners, and played well before his injury. A freak injury that is, a fracture in his neck, how often do you hear about those and how could kyle / john have stopped that from happening? Think back to 2017, who was on our team? Absolutely no one. The front office had to overpay people to join the team, s**t they were coming off a 2-14 season! You can't sign anyone that's decent for a "good" price coming off a season like that. I understand that a lot of free agents haven't panned out, but cmon man its not like those guys started every single game and played like s**t. Ya'll are ridiculous. I will never understand.

It means that he'll almost certainly go on IR to start the season. That was still up in the air, based on how he felt after his practice yesterday. If he had felt recovered then he may have just been inactive for a few weeks.

In either case, the real question is what type of IR do they use. I believe they can IR him before the cutdown on Saturday, but that means he's ineligible to come back this season. If they want to use one of the two "eligible to return after Week 8" IR designations, they need to have him on the 53-man roster, and then IR him on Sunday. But this would expose one other player they want to keep to waivers for 24-hrs.

My guess, based on Lynch's comments, is that they'll just IR him and take him out of the equation for 2019. Yes, it would suck if he's totally good to go with no further setbacks in, say, November, but I'd rather not put any pressure on the guy and have him focus on 2020.

Clearer heads prevail!

You can complain about what he got paid...but he wasn't injured when signed. Look at it from a scheme standpoint. He's a miss match nightmare in 21 personnel. No LBer can guard him. He's one of the best RB pass-blockers in football. He could have had a stupid productive season. I get the signing.

A non-contact fluke ACL happened a week before the season started. Unfortunately that's football. I really don't think he wanted to tear his ACL.

This doesn't change anything. Just about everyone assumed he was going on short-term IR, they will still have 4 RBs on the roster and wilson can stay on PS.

If there is anybody to blame- it's the medical staff.

Of course they're paying these guys to play in games. NC's wording implies that these guys are intentionally getting injured so that they can sit on bench and collect checks like that was their plan all along. It's b******t. They're not milking anything. McKinnon didn't intentionally tear his ACL. I doubt he love the fact that he's gone through a year of painful rehab from his ACL injury only to have another setback right before the season.

I don't think he implies that at all. He is just telling it like it is. That's about 60 million in contracts with no return. They didn't pay 60 but Malcom got 12 million for doing nothing. That's a pretty good player salary just sitting on the bench. It's tough to win in this league when you money is on the sidelines.

nice deflection but it does not take away from what he said as being the truth, you could have axed ward aa and smith this off season and took their salary and got someone or two people who cold have helped us. you got a bunch of homers here who only want to slobber all over lynch for good things but they have lots of excuses denial and deflection when you DARE hold lynch accountable for the bonehead decisions made. keeping garcon. jesus . i forgot about that. here lets hope a old guy with a broken neck will be a player for us. in regards to the alleged jet. 85 is right, if you cut him now. you hurt the financial house. which is on shaky grounds due to the things nc pointed out. jet will never play for us. keeping him and HOPING he will be a player for us is just stupid, just pick a time where it will cause us the least amount of damage financially and dump his worthless ass

Put him on IR and roll with RM, Brieda and Coleman. Jeff Wilson can be stashed on the PS. We will be fine. I don't want to say move on from Jet but it appears he is not going to be available to play again this year. If the prognosis is bad then we might want to cut him and focus on extending Breida and Coleman.

Wilson will get swooped up instantly if we try to put him on the practice squad.

Why do people feel this way? We've had plenty of RB's light it up during preseason.

I don't get the love fest for Wilson at all.. He looks like a 3rd string RB..
well. the way our luck goes.. we may need a third string back before the year is over. and he is a dang good third string back

So many question marks and high hopes of getting the RB Minnesota had it's a 50/50 chance they do but sadly so much money spent for high hopes and as of now nothing to show for it.
I wouldn't bet on it. ACL's reduce quickness speed and agility, and that's why he was paid 30+ million - for his speed, quickness, and agility. Unlikely he'll be 100% ever in those three categories again. But I bet they will try one last time (IR him and try again next year), then call it a day.

Sus is one of the best posters here. I have no problems with him. Let me put it this way. He knows more football than Grant cone, and he's a hell of a lot better at trolling that Grant.
