That's my opinion on McKinnon he has never been better than 3rd string barring injury. Fournette carries the Jags to the AFC championship with sh*t QB play. Even if not Fournette, there were better backs who could catch available via draft the last two years. But hey. Maybe one of these pans out or they get it done as a unit. Hyde was a much better runner than McKinnon regardless of system and will probably have a fine year in Cleveland

Lol Fournette ran for 3.9 yards per carry...that defense carried the team. AGAIN we don't run a power based run offense.

Only thing I agree with is they could have drafted someone better than Williams. I have never been a fan of him.

McKinnon fits what Kyle wants to do plain and simple. They want explosive plays and speed (lynch even talked about it yesterday at the beginning of practice) having Mckinnon helps kyle with scheming plays and controlling what the defense can do.

Dude has a calf strain anyone can get that big or small...they brought in Morris because they need camp bodies for the rest of preseason. You honestly think they would have paid McKinnon if they thought they could get more out of Morris for the vet min?

Think man

I think you should wait and see how well the backs we do have fare in this system this year before complaining about what we did not do. If you did a little research you would find the Shanahan ZBS has taken many Joe Plumbers after Terrell Davis and turned them into productive runners for them.

Draft history has also shown that productive backs can be found all over the draft board and teams do not need to necessarily invest higher draft picks into the position.

no man. no. Fournette is really big though He must have carried grown men on his back all last yr and ran for 2,000 yards right? what no, he ran for 3.9 YPC (damn near the same as McKinnon)?!

Fournette had 4.4 yards per touch last yr....McKinnon had 6.1 yard per touch. IMO that's what people need to look at. We aren't gonna have a running back that get's 250+ carries. We're gonna have duel threat guys like McKinnon that make Kyle's offense even harder to predict (run or pass). It's gonna open up everything.

think people....this isn't Harbs offense that runs up the middle for 4 yards, eats up the clock and let's the defense win games.

Fournette absolutely did not carry his team.

Gurley carried his team. That's what it looks like when a running back IS the offense.

3 yards and a cloud of dust isn't how we play football anymore - thank god - so it is absolutely correct to consider yards per touch. Although blocking is still extremely relevant.
welp, we lose. lol.

He played very well in their wins overall. I don't think it's remotely fair to say that Fournette carried the team.
Did I miss an announcement that McKinnon is gonna miss the Minnesota game? He's just being held out of the remainder of the pre-season, presumably so he can be fully healthy for that opening game.

Over Reaction Central in NT.
