Ya he is and he also settles the water a bit. Which is pretty big. Apparently Landry wouldn't go to them unless they had a qb as well. Him and Gordon could be a big deal.

They need to stop trading away picks. They need superstar and Barkley potentially offers that.

He's a great fit for Hue's offense, especially if they draft Barkley. They'd have Taylor, Barkley and Duke Johnson pounding it on the ground with Taylor bombing it off of playaction to Gordon and Co. The two things Taylor does well, running it and throwing deep---he does really well.

They haven't traded much at all TBH.. they trade a 2018 4th and 2019 7 for landry.. that's a win.. they trade a 3rd for Taylor. That's a win. And they swapped picks 5&7 with GB for Damarious Randall. And gave them kizer. So really they only gave up a 3&4 this year. Not to shabby at all!

The trade for TT is actually sensible, rather than ruin your 1st round QB by throwing them in too early like they've done before. They can draft Barkley #1, have a run/play action heavy offense and leave their 1st round QB on the bench to learn and mature for a season or two. A starting QB is worth every bit of a high 3rd round pick. TT isn't the best qb in the league, though he sure isn't the worst.

What I don't like about is is that they surrendered a third round pick. The Browns could've packaged pick #33 and pick #65 (this is the one they traded) and moved up to around #20 overall (using the draft value chart). They could've very conceivably had picks #1, #4, and #20 in the draft. There's a good chance that someone reasonably-high on their board will drop to #20. That's five years of a really good prospect.

The Browns had some tough losses last year and are for sure more talented than 0-16, but this team was still dead last in point differential in the entire NFL. What is Taylor really going to do? Improve them to a 5-6 win team? If Taylor was going to make them a fringe playoff contender I could see this making more sense, but I really just don't understand it given their situation.

I'm sure the Browns will take a QB high this year. If I were them, I would've went with a stopgap -- someone like Keenum, Bradford, McCown, Bridgwater -- on a short-term deal in FA, and then got the rookie QB's feet wet later in the year (like how Goff, Trubisky, et al have been handled recently). Taylor is better than the guys listed, but not enough to warrant a third round pick imo.

And he's a better QB than many have believed.
