Elite lineman make the adjustment. I'd be willing to bet Norwell could. For everyone pulling the scheme card, I guess that means you're against drafting Nelson too? Yes Nelson would be on a rookie contract, but Norwell consistently dominated at the NFL level already and if we have a chance to sign him we'd be foolish not too if scheme is the reason.

Thing is, Nelson fits the scheme perfectly. People think because you're big you aren't a fit for ZBS. That's just dumb. You need to be athletic and be able to move. Nelson has Lil the traits that would make him elite in any system.

And I hope we sign norwell. He and Nelson would make our line elite.

100% agree. Nelson is my #1 player. I can't even imagine what a line with Norwell AND Nelson would look like. Something like this

Don't see a zone blocking team investing that heavily on the OL but if Nelson turned out to be as good as many expect, the interior would be unbelievably dominant, even if Kilgore was just average.

Kilgore could read the newspaper or have a smoke!
He tops my wish list.

I went back to focus on him and see how mobile he was. I have no doubt he'd fit in well in Kyle's offense. Norwell was on the move a lot last season and he was excellent. He was leading the way on most of their screen passes. Norwell has outstanding technique, a high game IQ, and recovers as well as anyone when he gets pushed back.

He's also a model teammate and is praised for his work ethic. Kilgore was just resigned and his work ethic was a main reason voiced by Lynch. Lynch and Kyle will love Norwell. It just comes down to how much they're willing to spend at the position.

Andrew Norwell will soon become the highest-paid offensive guard in NFL and New York Giants history, according to one former scout.
NFL Draft analyst Chad Forbes has spoken with one Giants source who told him the franchise is very serious about signing Norwell in free agency.
"Spoke w/ Giants source on Andrew Norwell," Forbes Tweeted. "Said Giants prepared make Norwell highest paid Guard NFL History. And if new Agent Drew Rosenhaus takes Norwell elsewhere (49ers) it would create friction in relationship. Assumes Panthers don't Tag Norwell... But Giants are SERIOUS."
Norwell was the First-Team All-Pro left guard in 2017 and also earned First-Team All-Pro honors from Pro Football Focus.
Earlier this week, we broke down why the Giants can fit Norwell's massive contract and still remain under the salary cap in 2018 and for future years. You can check out that breakdown and why it makes the Giants serious contenders for Norwell below.

Staley played in power, inside zone and outside zone. Whatever Norwell puts his mind to, he'll exceed. While we run the most outside zone, he'll still get to pancake fools too.
Norwell and Staley as athletes are in different universes.

Joe Staley is a special athlete.

no, no we don't...Kyle isn't gonna pay a OG $13+ million a yr that's ridiculous.

people gotta have a little faith in the coaching staff/scouting department/and Ran Carthon to find scheme fit interior lineman.

As OL in general. Norwell went undrafted in part because he wasn't a good athlete.
