Depends who you replace him with, as we found out.

That's true. He isn't the worst.

I've defended jimmy for the most part but I didn't like him taking shots at us this off-season. Kinda makes me happy he looks like booty outside of a few plays.

sometimes the grass isn't greener on the other side.
after 3 games with mcdaniel jimmy is probably missing the 49ers offense, when he was ballin with cmc last year, if he didnt get hurt he probably couldve won the sb
He looked bad last night

Huh? Build around a player you need to replace? Did you really just say that?

So the theory is if you replace everyone with better players the team will be better? Wow I can't believe no one has thought of that.

He was making a joke about our team and Brock Purdy

Replacing Jimmy is always the key to getting better. Before or after everyone else

Charmander - > Charmeleon - > Charizard
Brian Hoyer - > Jimmy G - > Brock Purdy

I don't get the reference

No different than most mondays after a loss he started the last 4 years.

Will say though the defense shares the loss. Can't allow the Steelers to score 23.

Hunter Renfrow has proven to be a reliable slot reciever who was a 3rd down machine with Carr. He has 3 catches in 3 games with Jimmy.
Is anyone surprised ? Did anyone besides the most homers think something would go differently when Jimmy is forced to pass 40 times a game ?

Anyone who at least tries to be objective would know that Jimmy is a turnover machine. Last night's game was a vintage Jimmy game. He got injured, threw bunch of passes into double and triple coverage, threw a few hospital balls, threw three picks, one of which was extremely ugly and inexplicable. He also moved the ball decently and force fed his two top receivers, forgetting he has Renfrow.

It was always obvious that if you put Jimmy on a team that needs to drop back and pass, his turnovers will skyrocket just off the volume increasing.

Right now he's on pace for over thirty interceptions. I doubt he gets to that number though because at some point he'll either get injured or benched. Raiders offense has 25% of their drives ending in a turnover, easily leading the league. TWENTY FIVE PERCENT. And yes, it's really early. But in comparison the Niners have 3% of drives resulting in a turnover.

I took him with my last pick in a few best ball leagues and he's done nothing like you said... I hope they trade him to KC or something.

Quite a few over the summer thought he'd be improved. One was talking how he was going to make a monumental difference to the Raiders D.

He was always going to throw for more yards but lose because of that D. If he can't keep from turning the ball over though it will get even worse. As you said 30 picks is completely unsustainable for any offense.

I don't believe in the 'win' stat attributed to a QB, I believe in evaluating QB (or any other position) play. And it was always clear that Jimmy was turnover-prone even on a team that was very run-heavy and didn't throw downfield (49ers). Even when limiting turnovers and being conservative, the possibility of a turnover was always there every time Jimmy would drop back.

As far as defenses go...Chargers defense is also trash this year yet Herbert has zero picks while throwing it 30 more times than Jimmy.

Now I don't think anyone would say Jimmy is on Herbert's level ... and Herbert played much worse defenses, but my point is that same-team defense analysis shouldn't overshadow actual QB play. A good QB's play wouldn't drop off drastically if he is forced to pass more. With Jimmy it's a linear correlation. The more you pass with him, the more turnovers you expect.

he was a 100 catch 1000 yard WR with Carr .....yeah no one but Adams is getting the ball now.
I've felt ever since Brock started playing that he and JG were basically the same QB with a couple of exceptions. One major one is the tendency to throw INTs. Jimmy has the uncanny knack to throw to the defender at the critical time. Brock is excellent at not throwing INTs. I hope the other difference is the ability to stay healthy.
