Course they did. That's why we drafted, TL also. You can't have QB1 out, 2 of 3 seasons. There goes your season, happened to us, twice. If JG played every single game, without fail, his value would go up, not down.

That's correct. It was all about injured vs stay healthy. Not performance on the field WHEN HEALTHY.

We drafted TL bc Jimmy wasn't that good and then on top of it couldn't stay healthy. He showed it plenty of times in big playoff games he couldn't get the job done. If we just wanted a Jimmy clone we would've stayed at 12 and drafted Jones. Either way, you don't draft in the NFL based on bone density, it was obvious what the team wanted talent wise, mobile QB with a strong arm, hence the pick...Jimmy was the polar opposite of that.

Plus Luck got paid a lot money and was still getting injured.

NFL FOs aren't that dumb as a collective, you might have a few guys in over their heads, but not that many. But by all means pretend you're smarter than all NFL execs lol. You guys are obviously right and then rest of the NFL execs, media, fans, all wrong - makes perfect sense lol

You even say it, in your first sentence. He couldn't stay healthy is what you say, and that is correct. Durability is most def a concern of GMs, all sports. Gotta have those dollars on the field, not on the IR.

Ya, *on top of that*

Main issue was talent. Bc there's no doubt at all that if Jimmy would've won us a SB here he would've still been our QB.

He also did something on this level of stupid almost every single game.

Course we judge for winning / losing, see Mahomes, Patrick or Brady, Tom.

See Marino and others.

They are applauded for winning,...not judged. 2 different things.

Hmm that was also a really dumb play call by Kyle, he even admitted it. Shouldn't be doing that big of a drop in the endzone. Lol

Oh you mean when Marino won all those Super Bowls!!!
They wouldn't have signed him if he hadn't gotten the surgery. And even though the Raiders refused to find that Garoppolo was fit to pass a physical, Garoppolo told Silver that he fully intended to play in Super Bowl LVII, if the 49ers had found a way to beat the Eagles without Brock Purdy.

"Oh yeah, I was playing," Garoppolo told Silver. "That was kind of the plan of not getting the surgery."

Jimmy!!!!

It makes some sense, reportedly he was close to a return at the NFCCG. That was the whole "controversy" a lot of 49er folks suspecting he was 'healthy' and sitting it out as an eff u to KS. Course, like a lot of stuff, that was nonsense. So maybe in two additional weeks, he could have played at a fractional percent, like 65 or 75%. Would have been preferable, to Josh Johnson.

What a b******t artist. Jimmy showed no signs…let's repeat this….NO SIGNS that he was willing to or going to play at any point after his injury. He knew the QB situation was thin going into the playoffs with Trey being out and a benchwarmer sitting behind Purdy. If he wanted he could've at least tried to show the coaches he could possibly be a viable option at some point. Some type of practice ? Throwing ? Something ?!

He wasn't gonna do squat except try and take credit for the SB run had we won it all. Jimmy's the kind of guy when it's all said and done will be flashing his SB rings that Brady won and pretend like he was part of it.

Good riddance
