Again I have to ask, why is this a good thing? Jimmy going to Seattle does not benefit the 49ers in anyway

For me, it increases the entertainment value of SEA vs SF by x1000. It's like football and a soap opera mixed up in a bowl and served on a hot plate.

It would be interesting to see how many 49ers fans openly root for Seattle to win those games if Jimmy is starting.

I would because I still am a Jimmy fan because of the Wins he got us, plus I want Seattle to have a lower draft pick since they most likely want one of the top QBs next draft.

Wut duh heck.

I would pay money to no longer have to read the take that it's a bad thing if SEA absolutely lays down and dies this year. 49er fans rooting for SEA to win more games. Never thought I'd see the day

Be careful what you wish for. Next year's draft is supposed to be a good year for 1st round franchise QB's. If they can stay out of the top 10/15 and miss the playoffs by a mile all the better.

What like Trevor Lawrence / Zach Wilson good? .. those slayers of NFL D's who surely will have the Jets Jags in the Champ game.. road to the SB goes thru JAX everyone..

Let's say Jimmy goes their and Seattle ends up winning 7 or 9 games but he keeps them competitive and their locker room embraces him? Now they go into the next off-season with momentum and they attract free agents who are looking to join a team committed to winning, they resign Jimmy to a team friendly deal and now the Seahawks believe they can compete with the right talent around Jimmy. No thanks

I'll take my chances with Geno Smith and Drew Lock ruining their season , and chances are higher they'll probably draft a player in the top 5 that won't make a significant impact next year anyways.

So instead the 9ers keep him at a ridiculous rate that limits their spending ability come 2023 in free agency all because they didn't want a team to get their old qb?

I don't think he's saying keep JG I think it's more that he's not actively rooting for JG to go to SEA.. hopefully he's cut and signs in NYJ or some such..
If Jimmy goes to Seattle and they're successful with him in going to be sick

But to be honest, regardless if he goes there or not, Seattle is gonna suck without Widget. 5-6 wins is being hopeful.

Exactly... Even we had a dismal record before we signed Jimmy and he came in and helped turn this team into a contender. I don't give Jimmy all the credit for that but he did settle down the QB position and brought leadership and stability that his teammates rave about. Hell even Richard Sherman was boasting about it last night on TNF. If he stays healthy I can see him turning Seattle into a decent team as they have one of the best WR's in all of football and a decent piece in Lockette. From what I understand they also want to lean more into ground and pound football and that is where JImmy is at his best.

As I've said. We play these guys twice. Why would people want to play a better Seattle team? Again, I don't think Jimmy is the greatest, but he is good at keeping his team in games and can also play really well at times. I think some fans are letting their distaste for Jimmy cloud their judgement.
Jimmy lovers = Keep him away from Seattle at all costs; don't make them better!
Jimmy haters = Let Seattle have him pppllleeeaassseeee; they'll suck even more!
Jimmy neutralers = Just be happy Wilson is no longer there

I haven't seen one poster claim Jimmy would make the Seahawks worse.

There hasnt been. Anyone who uses the word haters in their post is telling on himself that his argument sucks.

Having a huge amount of capspace rolling over helps the 49ers far more than than the Seahawks marginally improving hurts the 49ers.

I was speaking about this message board, not what you may or may not have seen elsewhere.

Of course, but we can have that without guys hoping Seattle gets better.
