Again I have to ask, why is this a good thing? Jimmy going to Seattle does not benefit the 49ers in anyway

For me, it increases the entertainment value of SEA vs SF by x1000. It's like football and a soap opera mixed up in a bowl and served on a hot plate.

It would be interesting to see how many 49ers fans openly root for Seattle to win those games if Jimmy is starting.

I would because I still am a Jimmy fan because of the Wins he got us, plus I want Seattle to have a lower draft pick since they most likely want one of the top QBs next draft.

Zero fans would

I disagree.

So you would root against the 49ers? This is the discussion.

Seahawks know they don't need to trade for him. They are just waiting for him to be released.

That is why Seattle will not trade for him. They will get him anyway. I've been saying from the start of this saga that I do not want to him to end up on Seattle and here we are. Looks likely but we'll see how this shakes out.

I hope you would not be rooting for Seattle to win games against the 49ers.

When Seattle plays the Niners I would root for the Niners of course. and I don't think Jimmy is gonna make Seattle a threat to us in the division, just get them a few more wins maybe.

I should say...the best case scenario, because I still want Jimmy to do well, is he plays pretty well but Seattle loses those games. I guess that would be best case scenario. But a few more wins by Seattle also lowers their first round pick, so that may not necessarily be a bad thing. I just don't see Seattle competing with us right now for the division crown so not too worried about them.

But Seattle is a divisional foe, I'm no Jimmy fan but he makes them better. Why do we want our road to be tougher?

I really don't get it.

This. When your worst enemy is dying on the ground and defenseless, you stomp on their throat, not give them a senzu bean. Let's say Jimmy goes their and Seattle ends up winning 7 or 9 games but he keeps them competitive and their locker room embraces him? Now they go into the next off-season with momentum and they attract free agents who are looking to join a team committed to winning, they resign Jimmy to a team friendly deal and now the Seahawks believe they can compete with the right talent around Jimmy. No thanks

I'll take my chances with Geno Smith and Drew Lock ruining their season , and chances are higher they'll probably draft a player in the top 5 that won't make a significant impact next year anyways.

I would pay money to no longer have to read the take that it's a bad thing if SEA absolutely lays down and dies this year. 49er fans rooting for SEA to win more games. Never thought I'd see the day

Yeah, Ideally he doesn't get to Seattle, but I just don't think they will find a trade partner in time, so It looks like he will end up a Seahawk.

Be careful what you wish for. Next year's draft is supposed to be a good year for 1st round franchise QB's. If they can stay out of the top 10/15 and miss the playoffs by a mile all the better.
