I'd be curious to know if the FO made him an offer when he first got here. If so, I wonder what it looks like compared to how he's played and how much will they have to up the anti.

Yeah, I'm talking about getting something done in January/February - I want it done way before FA in March.

Ditto, Mayo. Get 'er done. There is just no validity to saying wait a yr. Wait a yr for what? To prove this kid is the second coming? Cripes if you don't believe it now, you won't a yr from new either. Besides, look how well waiting has worked out in WASH. What a bunch of tools. Obviously with Kyle's play calling and John/kyles player evaluations(they got us 11 new starters this yr, including the FR QB AND a backup)...so they know what they are doing. We got $$$, we got picks, we get us an ER, OG C OG, add in a LB, a CB and we are good to go. The jimmy deal just cut 3 yrs, maybe 2 off the 3-4 yr rebuild. We are close now. But the last thing we need to do is to stick our thumbs up you know where and wait to see how good he really is before signing him to LT contract. Good grief. This is the guy we have been trying to find for last 22 yrs. And we found him. Next obvious step is to sign him LT and if it costs $30 mil per, so be it. Worth every penny. So let's get that contract signed. Don't even fake trying to get him down. Just sign him and figure that will be the figure everyone gets 2-3 yrs out.
