I understand that. I'm an A's fan as well so I've seen top player after top player leave or get traded but I think in this case, Garoppolo is in a very good situation and I think that he recognizes he is in a very good situation. He can continue putting up big numbers in Shanahan's offense and being the QB of the 49ers instantly means you're always going to be a pretty big deal on the national stage if you're any good.

Considering his role model is Brady and his foundation was with the Patriots, I don't see it being an issue. I would say it is a combination of HC and QB.

Harbaugh managed to win with Alex Smith (he can win now, but definitely not back then. ) and Kap.

Shanahan is a rookie coach, it has been learning experience early in the season. I am actually pleasantly surprised with his game management throughout the season while calling offensive plays.

I am confident that the the combination of Shananah and Garoppolo can win lots of games.

I love that he had the experience of learning in a Dynasty. That's the goal and knowing what it looks like and the expectations it carries is huge. We had for almost 20 years and it's beautiful.

Nope. Dude will want to get paid, but success going to his head? I dont think so. He's always been described as a humble guy who lives to grind. Doubt he's suddenly gonna start big timing it.

Agree with PHX here, and if you are wondering if he runs hot and cold, well, that was answered just about the time he was cornered, running to his left and then side arm/underhanded gunned that TD to (TT or Kittle) . Basically he just runs hot on the field all the time, and as noted above, his mentoring was the right way with the 2 best people around...for a hot shot qB, that is . And to Jiks above, he knows this is a dynasty team, like his PATS were....except here he could start, and to top it off, has a better OC than he had in PATs land. He sticks and stays, because he wants to be that DYNASTY guy, once again. And with a no name team, but a hot shot OC/HC, it is going to happen and jimmy is smart enough to see it He also sees what his talents do to a team mired in mediocrity...or was at start of yr. He now knows that with OG C OG and a great ER, or two, 'this team is bound for glory. Sure we need a LB, a Cb also, but just the first 4 make us contenders. Oh, he also knows except for DL, we have no depth...anywhere...but , based on John and kyle's work to date he can see this is the spot for him to bet he guy of the next dynasty. The Kyle/ john axis is a big reason why. JG is aware of our history. Now he can repeat it....and that would be something. He stays. Sure, he gets a lot of dough, but is worth every penny. May be more than most had thot tho....and right now, today, $30 mil per doesn't look so outrageous, tho i think it will cost a bit less.

Honest to God Donnie, i just didn't believe there was a way in the world we could protect him. I never realized he could get that dang rock out so darn fast that he can protect himself. Still and all, we need OG C and OG along with that ER. So yes, i was dead wrong and never been so happy to be so. Still saying the beads he doesn't get hurt in our last game. Darnolld is truly ferocious....and he could get jimmy hurt.

I hope they don't drag their feet as far as signing him to a contract. I don't want to ruin the good vibe that's hit the organization.

Exactly. Anyone can get open eventually.... and Jimmy has shown if he has time, he will find them.
