That's not going to happen. Players, and their agents, look to get set for life on their second contract. Now Garoppolo hasn't had as much of a chance to prove himself as most, but in his mind, he's sure making up for lost time. His play will only get better, and his leadership skills are already established.

If he keeps playing the next three games as well as the last two, then Shanahan and Lynch will feel quite comfortable making the commitment, and Garoppolo will very much want to play his career under Shanahan. That's why he's here. And both sides will want a front loaded contract. The contract talks won't be contentious. I think we'll see a top five contract for at least five years.

In my eyes, the guy is worth the money already. He is unreal. Good mobility, Dan Marino release, great accuracy, touch. Won with garbage players surrounding him. I know it's to early to crown him, but man o man I'm measuring him already for kings robes, a nice scepter, and a 49er red and gold Pharaoh head dress.

Honestly you and I don't know what the outcome will be, this is a unique situation...I'm fine with whatever but I wouldn't be suprised if it's a 3-4 yr deal with good guarantees.

Well, Garoppolo will want a longer term contract, because it means more guaranteed money setting him up for life even on the chance it's a short career.. And teams covet that fifth year in first round rookie deals, because they lock the player up longer and it extends when they get a raise. The same will hold true here.

I guess it all depends on whether we are all in or not. I just don't see Lynch being timid and trying to do it half baked, risking the relationship and partnership. He clearly likes what he sees.
Jimmy Garoppolo aka "The Disney Prince"
You guys keep saying Lynch but we all know its Paraag who carries Jeds purse.

He certainly seems to have all the tools a FQB has. But these next three games are against fired up teams with a ton on the line and all three have great defenses and pass rushes. We have 3 of the worst 5 players starting along the OL. If he can survive the next three games while finding some success, back that brinks truck up.

Yes, Marathe is in charge of contracts and the analytics departmemt as well as being the team's Chief Strategy Officer.
Hoping they don't lowball JG.

Ugh....wasn't paraag the one who we thought was source of the leaks during the baalke/harbaugh era...

No, Lynch sets the parameters. Paraag cuts the deal, but the football guys set the goal of locking him up or leaving the team a cheap out.

There's nothing even remotely funny about this.

I rewatched the Txns game yesterday and Jimmy really does seem to have it all. Footwoork, vision, accuracy, decision making. Even the "mistakes" he made didn't look like his fault just miscommunications. He's starting to look Steve Young- like.

Right. Plus, I would suppose, Mommy and Daddy Yorke have the final sign off on a contract that big

You never know what will happen but Jimmy has sat behind Tom Brady and even though he now doesn't have to follow Tom I think that "Brady's heir" in a way will stay with him. Is he just a guy looking to cash in then change his personality? I don't see it happening. I think he learned a great deal from Tom including how to keep a pretty level head despite all the talk. Honestly is there a bigger name in the NFL than Brady right now? Handsome QB, supermodel wife, most SB wins, tons of records...and yet he's still out there busting his ass and working hard at 40 years old.

I don't want to trash Kap but honestly I think partly because he was adopted and didn't really know his biological parents he always had a need to fit in and change based on different situations. I'm not just talking about the protest. He was one way in college, seemed pretty easy going as a rookie but soon as he was given the starting job he kind of took on a different persona similar to Harbaugh where he was very brief with the media. Then when he got his current gf he changed his personality for her as well(or at least due to her)

Can Jimmy meet some girl and get lazy? I guess but I don't see it happening and honestly it's a risk you HAVE to take. You can say this for any young QB getting a big deal.

And let's be real...looking the way Jimmy does it's not like he wasn't swimming in p***y if he wanted it more than football. A large contract won't give him that much more than he already has now...if anything it could let him concentrate on being a better QB and teammate when he doesn't have to worry about his family's finances.
This is spot on.
During player intros tomorrow at Levi's, you think Jimmys going last?
