Lol pats fans...I'm surrounded by them. While NE has been the standard when it comes to a top NFL franchise, they are pretty full of themselves. Maybe JG is happy to be the guy that brings a storied franchise back to the top instead of the guy that has to follow Brady.

I wouldn't be surprised if SF tags JG then they get a deal done before the deadline.

Stafford money? idk, I see him getting/commanding a good amount, especially with other teams who would want him, so we'd be smart to lock him up with a good, cap friendly and player friendly deal.

Him leaving after 2 yrs, not happening, we're not going to be in cap hell any time soon.

He is definitely not going anywhere. I hope we just sign him to a deal and get it done. If he plays like we think he will, we'll look back at it and think we've got a great deal.. he's impressing with one of the worst rosters. I can't wait to see him with a much improved(hopefully) roster and better understanding of system next year.

Lol I know people would be scratching their heads but as much as I don't want them paying Jimmy, Stafford money what would you think about that?

I mean I don't think he's gonna be the highest paid player in the NFL like Stafford lol...I could see a possible 3 or 4 yr deal that's good for him and the team, then getting that groundbreaking contract when he's like 30.

If he has another competitive 300 yard performance and gives the team a chance to get W

Give him stafford money!!

The more he wins, the higher the price tag is going to be. Can't blame him - he's setting himself up for a hefty raise.

He takes to many hits

But qb play in the league is so bad and his so good, he's been a top 5 qb since he's started

There are some users in the WZ who would take this tweet as absolute indisputable fact. I won't say their names

Edit: The one saying he'll be back in NE soon, I mean.

That's not going to happen. Players, and their agents, look to get set for life on their second contract. Now Garoppolo hasn't had as much of a chance to prove himself as most, but in his mind, he's sure making up for lost time. His play will only get better, and his leadership skills are already established.

If he keeps playing the next three games as well as the last two, then Shanahan and Lynch will feel quite comfortable making the commitment, and Garoppolo will very much want to play his career under Shanahan. That's why he's here. And both sides will want a front loaded contract. The contract talks won't be contentious. I think we'll see a top five contract for at least five years.

Right now he's playing about as well as any QB these last 2 starts. He does take a lot of hits but that's behind an Oline the shouldn't have 3 guys starting. I'm assuming you're stating his hits as a concern for him staying healthy but hopefully with a much better line next year he'll take much less of those. If he continues playing the way he is minus jaguars game, I want him signed long term this offseason, even if some feel we slightly overpaid.

The more Lynch compliments JG the less Don Yee has to negotiate for that fat contract.

Should get a pool going for the contract.

Hahaha I was thinking this. I like how Lynch is a great public speaker and all and gives us updates throughout the season. But I feel that might come back and bite us in the ass if he continues complimenting Jimmy as much as he has. Hopefully contract negotiations aren't going to be complicated for Jimmy but for others looking for future deals as well, I could see him driving up the price himself time after time haha

Yup, Lynch is a straight shooter, and he will want him paid commensurate with what he's worth. Right now, that appears to be quire a lot.

Lynch will not want him playing feeling grossly under paid.

The best practice is to be known as a straight shooter. Give an honest assessment, and offer contracts accordingly. Sometimes players will find a way to get overpaid elsewhere. The Pats, for instance, never overpay, for anybody, and that seems to be working for them.

Jimmy G showing why this isn't rocket science. It's a damn NFL offense, not that difficult to learn since it is all memorization and key reads.

Lol well there's only like 15 guys that can do it well in the entire world. It's harder than rocket science .

Honestly you and I don't know what the outcome will be, this is a unique situation...I'm fine with whatever but I wouldn't be suprised if it's a 3-4 yr deal with good guarantees.
