Just saying, let's go Jimmy G!

But make no mistake about it, this is a make or break season for Jimmy G. He's gonna have to prove he can stay on the field, and get this team back to the SB.

im here for this kinda Jimmy G support. i agree...2021 is a make or break year for him.

Like every year it is make or break for every player on the roster. It is just that a certain cohort is hell bent on JG failing. I am in the cohort who is confident he is going to ball out. I prefer to breath positive air. Negativity is for losers imho.

45 year old Brady will be a free agent in 2022. Maybe the Niners will pay him then

Yes, looking forward to this upcoming season. Assuming Garoppolo is QB, I'll take him along with the talent this team has on both sides of the ball plus whatever they add in the draft (strong pass rush and OL, please)/FA/trades and I'll put this team up against any team in the league and like the Niners' chances going into each game. Need to shore up the OL - we saw last night what a good OL looks like & what it can do in helping the Bucs both run & pass. It will really help Garoppolo, whom I believe can stay healthy just like he did for 19 straight games in 2019. He needs to stay on the field and get more games under his belt...he has less than 1,000 career pass attempts.

Going to be an interesting offseason and I wish we could fast-forward to Free Agency.

Oh trust me, I'm certainly hopeful. If he's heathy and doing well that means we're contending for the SB. But I'd be lying if I said that I had total confidence in Jimmy, if for nothing else his inability to stay on the field. I've gone from total confidence to cautiously optimistic - from complete faith to need-to-see-it. But in no way am I negative (not that you called me that).

You do have to admit, though, that Jimmy G. has earned - right or wrong - a great deal of honest fan skepticism. You have to leave room for that.

I think the crazy is going to kick off before FA.

Give it a week or two for the SB dust to clear, NFL will decide on the cap number for this year, and we'll see teams start to do some serious roster gymnastics.

Yeah, good point...with the cap going down and so many teams in tough shape with their cap numbers, the craziness of $ maneuvering & roster moves is probably going to start early before FA gets here.

The difference is, Jimmy didn't have that much pressure until the 4th quarter. Mahomes had it from the first drive. Without his ability to move around, Mahomes would have been sacked at least 10 times.

And until the 4th quarter Jimmy was 18/22......

Then went 3/9 and how many times has, "worst 4th quarter ever" been said about Jimmy?

That's. The. Point.

During your review, how many of the 22 do you feel the ball was thrown to the correct place?

Just curious because IMO, one of the biggest misses of the entire game was one of the 18 completed passes.

One check down short of a 1st down isn't going to make or break the SB, especially with how the final 10 minutes went.

You'd also still be ignoring the other 17 completions. Did Brady not have a bad pass yesterday?

The OPI on Kittle was also a big difference in the game, but you dont bring that up.

You're distracting from the point of pressure. You're saying that Jimmy wasn't pressured until the 4th so it doesn't absolve him, but everyone's point was that he's getting blamed for the 4th when the OL couldn't pass pro.

I really don't get why you can't admit that, maybe, juat maybe thr 4th quarter collapse wasn't on Jimmy. But that would take you admitting you've been wrong for the past year.

Actually I was answering someone that was inferring that Mahomes was worse than Jimmy under pressure. That's not the case as the stats you post show. When Jimmy wasn't pressured he played well. When he was he played awful. I just saw that Mahomes was pressured on 52% of his drops which was a SB record. Add the fact that KC had no running game and you have a recipe for a big loss. TB dominated from start to finish. The Chiefs only dominated for 7 minutes last year. Until then, the Niners were in control. That lack of running game and the O line all playing out of position really did the Chiefs in. TB just dared them to throw deep and they couldn't under that pressure. Without a RG to keep the D honest it was open season.

I guess I am sorry I asked. Completely danced around my question.

It's going to be fun to see all the playoff teams that are over the cap, implode in free agency.

The NFL and NFLPA are negotiating, 100% believe pay cuts will happen.
