there was no scheme basically, he was basically playing backyard football. he really got his course in kyles offense during the offseason

But Donnie's point is valid, how is that even possible that JG played best with little knowledge of the playbook and now after having 3 years to learn it looks like a shell of his former self?

Mental damage, bad coaching, injuries...some combination thereof? We'll never know, but it seems at this point that he may be a lost cause.

Actually, if they cut him he'll probably go back to NE and win 3 championships
Kyle just spoke and mentioned that part of the reason Jimmy was pulled was because of how the ball as coming out. to paraphrase how that it was NOT normal for Jimmy to be throwing the ball that way and that his ankle was still affecting him.

so yeah, i know you guys are emotional, are relishing this opportunity to s**t all over Jimmy, but regardless of what you think and what you want to call it the fact is his ankle is obviously bothering him and he will address his play himself. whether you want to label it as an "eXcuSE" or not have at it. but that's the reality of it.

not ready to move onto someone else yet, but at this point, the injuries are becoming a concern because he IS being affected by them always on 1 way or the other. and it's getting old.

and then you have a guy like Russell wilson who is practically injury proof. so yeah, that's the most frustrating thing.

It was explained. No real tape, no expectations, no one game planning to stop him. There is a specific game plan to stop the 49ers offense now. Until we have better pass pro and can hit a few deep shots a game, I don't expect us to look the way we did last year on offense.

No tape, no pressure, no expectations, running different offense, healthy ACL.

This
Simply put, think about Jimmy when we traded for him and he came in at the end against Seattle. NOT the same guy today....

Is it physical? His pocket mechanics have been terrible lately IMO. He's scared and doesn't trust his line. (Not sure I blame him). His head isn't right out there. He holds on to the ball forever. Doesn't step into throws..... In the end. Gotta ask Kyle wtf happened. It's his job to groom these guys.

the acl is also an excuse. he didnt play well vs minnesota and detroit with a healthy acl. he started looking good vs the chiefs right before he tore it. he also had great games post acl. so thats not it.
What concerns me is that the constant hits, minor injuries and erratic play is starting to chip away at him mentally.

Against the Cards he spun around 3 times to avoid a sack, the first nobody was close to laying a hand on him yet.

There's definite reason for concern and that was before today.

It's Kyle... fellas, it's Kyle.. he just can't come up w/a game plan.. he calls the same plays over and over and over every other week.. I don't care about the injuries because it is what it is.. and the fact is, Kyle should have come up w/the game plan of how to slow up the game and give his team a chance or the backup QB a chance just in case the game was close..

So how was he throwing it in practice? The ankle was fine during the week and just today it affected him throwing?

IDK, live bullets are a different thing. it's just mainly "reps" at practice. everything during practice is "on schedule". but the matter of the fact is the ankle was clearly affecting the ball and Kyle said that is not how Jimmy normally throws the ball
We got the rest of the season to evaluate Jimmy as our qb , we will see. He didn't look too hot week 1 either. Looked good against the Jets, but who hasn't.
