Just for some perspective, and to show how two different matrixes look:

The NFL rating system has Jimmy at #6 with a rating of 118.6. Mullens at #19 with a 95.5 rating.

Pro Football Focus has Jimmy at #22 with a 69 rating. Mullens at #16 and a 74 rating. Jimmy low average. Mullens high average.

JG has arguably played a tougher opponent than Nick.

Way too soon to be betting the mortgage on either one. The Giants are BAD. The Jets are BAD. Let's see what happens after the Philly and Miami games. Until then, let's enjoy a relatively easy run. It gets tougher.

This is such an unfair analysis. Anyone who watches the games can tell the difference, despite the stats. Sure the Jets suck, but most of our offensive weapons where down because of injury. No Kittle. No Mostert. No Deebo. No Coleman. Not even Reed for half the game.

Just be honest, Mullens attempted passes (and completed them), that I haven't since Jimmy attempt since early last year with any regularity. For whatever reason, he's been completely shell shocked. Also, if you watch other teams besides the Niners, you would see that Jimmy rarely takes any good risks.

Did Mullens not play vs the same Jets team?

When Jimmy played vs Arizona without Deebo, Aiyuk and a center off the PS did you bring up the guys he was missing?

Jimmy rarely takes any good risks...please like what is a good risk?

I'm sure you're not in here b***hing if he makes some of those risks and they get picked?

A good risk is a calculated risk....not throwing it up for grabs as you fall out of bounds like Jimmy. I mean the type that Mullens takes. Like chucking it 20 yards down field to your WR, instead of taking the easy dump off.

Also, I can't believe your talking about Mullens in the Jets game? Clearly nerves got the best of him. He did settle down and once had a chance to practice, killed versus the Giants.

Jimmy's earning 27 million a year, he should destroy the Jets. Mullens can only afford a low budget Walmart 9ers hat on his salary...

You realize Mullens threw a couple of up for grabs balls that could've been easily picked? It happens to all QBs.

Which plays were ones where Mullens chucked it down the field instead of taking the easy dump off?

And speaking of that...I'm sure I wouldn't be able to find a post from you or others b***hing about Jimmy throwing it up when all he needed was taking the easy dump off right?

Its not worth it. We will never agree and I'm not going to go digging to prove something you'll never agree with anyway.

Not I am not a Jimmy fan. I don't like him personally, for no other reason, I just don't like his personality.

He played like an ALL-TIME Great in 2017. Since then, even before ACL issues, he's looked pedestrian.

Don't give me stats, they are tainted in my opinion. I've watched every game multiple times. I don't believe in him.

Nick throws a pass that gets the TE injured - not a peep.

Oh, now you've done it.

Another one who didn't bother to watch the 1st half of the Jets game.

Lol you talking about those check downs vs the worst team in the league.

He needs to stop being so scared and throw it to some WRs, especially more than 5-10 yards down the field. It's great to have TEs like Kittle and Reed who can get so much YAC, but we can't depend on that all the time. He needs to make some big boy throws like Mullens did.

He is throwing the plays he is given. I don't see him passing up a lot of long-ball opportunities. Remember, Kyle kept four TEs, plus a fullback, for a reason.

Lmao Jimmy went 5-0 with Goodwin, celek, Louis Murphy, Aldrick Robinson, and Trent Taylor as his leading receivers in '17
Kind of BS and annoying so many people take the praising of Mullens and/or critique of Jimmy so personally. Wtf, aren't we all Niner fans? People can have differing opinions. Last I checked 1989 Joe Montana isn't our starting QB

That you don't believe in him has been crystal clear by your posts in here. And I wasn't giving you stats, I do question if what you're looking at is tainted by your dislike of the player you're watching.

Regardless we'll agree to disagree. You're right on that one.

Keep doubling down on this and you're basically telling everyone you don't actually watch the games.

Kyle knows that with the limitations of his starting QB that this will always need to be a run-first offense which is why we've gone heavy on TEs and play a FB so often.

Every since Jimmy got paid, he's been mediocre with the exception of a handful of games.

His solution to his turn over problem seems to be not to take risks at all, including not throwing downfield or outside the hash marks. And he's still prone to make hugely errant throws (decisions) as displayed in the Cards game. Like just chucking it in the air with game on the line.

As a fan, I'm willing to give him more time because of his BRILLIANT 2017 campaign, but my patience is wearing thin.

You didn't watch the 1st half of the Jets game, then. Carrying an injury.

Seems like a lot of people didn't watch that game or chose to ignore it because "iTs tHE JeTs"

How did Nick look vs the same Jets?

People keep praising Nick for his aggressiveness. When you're the backup it's pretty easy to let it loose.

We've seen Nick as a starter for a while. He played well overall vs the Giants but he also showed issues people keep b***hing about with Jimmy. Jimmy didn't play well vs Arizona missing key weapons with no preseason to shake the rust off.

Mullens didn't look very good in his first action vs the lowly Jets. Maybe both of these guys needed to shake off the rust. Even Mahomes despite throwing for 3 TDs vs Houston actually didn't play up to his standards and unlike Jimmy he had all of his weapons out there and a solid OL.

Let's chill on overreactions. If we get the first half Jets game Jimmy the rest of the year we're in great shape.

why do people say "it's the Jets" with Jimmy but not "it's the Giants" with Mullens? agenda I suppose.

I see it as we have two capable starters that can smoke bad teams. Mullens did air it out to his WRs more. That was nice to see.

agreed. If there's anything I've come to realize with Jimmy, and hopefully he understands this now, is that he's got to protect himself better. and that's being more decisive and trusting. even if it costs him.

I'd rather live with an extra pick rather than seeing him get sacked and hit unnecessarily over and over
