I agree that they are really close in ability. I think they're better than borderline average though. I put them both a little above average although it's hard to tell in Kyle's system. He can make average QBs look good as long as they read defenses well and get rid of the ball quickly. Watching the game last night between the Pack and the saints was so different in the style they play. Watching Wilson throw those deep bombs right on target is nothing like the pitch and catch that the Niners play. Kyle's system works but it's not as exciting unless the receiver takes a short pass and breaks it for a long gain. There's no reason to make a change at this point but at least we know Mullens can handle the job decently.

Most QBs would thrive in Kyle's system unless they're slow to react and don't recognize defenses quickly. On the other hand, I'm not sure how well Jimmy or Nick would do in a system like GB or Seattle run.

You didnt see the picks Nick almost threw?

You havent seen Jimmy make the same bonehead throws...if not even worse ones...from time to time?

The hypocritical part of it is that the same people who will dismiss these mistakes in Nick's game he got away with are most definitely the ones who point to all of the bad throw/missed interceptions Jimmy makes.

That was my point. We should be 4-1 by the time the Rams come to Levi.

This is the time for the team to get healthy before things get real. Either QB should be able to win these next two games. The key is to allow Jimmy's high ankle sprain to fully heal before he goes back out there. Jimmy is a tough guy who will say it is fine when it isn't just to be able to play again. Those injuries can linger for a long time if not allowed to heal.

Yeah... I mean, like you said at the end, the sample size is so small the numbers are basically meaningless.

Remember when J.T. O'Sullivan balled out for a few games back in 2008? He had a 104.6 passer rating through 3 games, and that was back when a 100 passer rating was actually rare.

Jimmy's QB rating benefits a lot from Mostert turning a <10 yard pass into a 75 yard TD.
