Everyone needs to chill , it was like literally a few possessions of play after a major knee injury. They need to play him the whole half though and let him get roughed up a bit.

And, Staley needs to stop whiffing on plays.

Agreed but Miller and Chubb are elite pass rushers

The o-lines chemistry or whatever they call it doesn't look up to speed yet but Jimmy made some bad mistakes. He's got move in the pocket or not be afraid to take the sack. And I think that comes when he gets more reps. Some of those throws you just can't make but he knows that.

Good s**t

Totally. Total fail by the OL and Staley/Tomlinson x3 of 6 pass plays (poor communication and technique). Geesh.

Ted Nguyen of The Athletic also had a great breakdown of Jimmy G's pass attempts...some very good context on each play.

Recommend reading it if you get The Athletic.

What was the general summary of it?

Who needs Ted when we've got thl already beating him to the punch?

THL, JD, NC, AB81, NY85 and many many *many* more before any of the journalists out there - in fact I hardly look to any of the journalists out there other than Maiocco for info. This board has a lot of good football nerds to learn from, you just have to *know* who they are.

lol @ nc being in that group

nc is one of the top five people on this site and has been for years. i guess since he has been critical of the decisions made by the kyle and lynch as of late. he is now an outcast to some. sad

Well NC can overload you with info and if you dont know where he's comming from, you can easily get peeved about all the info.

But I think he has one of the best insights to how ShanaLynch is thinking, now with regards to Pettis, I just think NC is allergic to cats.

Meh, the only thing Mr. Cone is good at is shooting spit wads.

I'd much rather him come out with a 0.0 QB rating in a preseason game than go in with the mind frame to "just take the sack there"

The games don't matter...he can shake off the rust in other ways versus taking hits in games that don't matter. And the whole pocket movement thing has been addressed...Is a QB supposed to side step every time he's making a throw in case a DLman decides to jump with their hands raised last second?

maybe, but you say that with a song in your heart and a smile on your face
I hope he just learns to stay in the pocket. If the receivers aren't open, just start flopping to the ground like that Jim Everett gif. I don't think he is a durable QB who is gonna be able to take a lot of hits

Not just Jim Everett. Peyton Manning has done that plenty of times.

It may come off pussified but it's smart.
