yeah true. I'm kinda hoping we bring back Barkley to be the backup. I just hope something doesn't happen to CJ to force Jimmy G in to get killed early.

agreed , which means we will have to lean on our running game , and install a quicker passing attack to make up for the shaky offensive line , in the event Jimmy G has to play earlier than expected

I believe Goroppolo will play the week after the sea hawks game and this would keep him happy and wanting a long term deal. Some might want us to tank but we are not going to win more than 4 games even if Goroppolo plays. Him playing and playing well will help to attract free agents.

In the end I think that's the smarter call. This season is pretty much dead now. By the time minicamps start, he will have a pretty good grasp of the offense. Rushing him out there now and your really only setting him up to fail.

I thought he said, moreso, that the Pats believe, and the pats said they can win with either hoyer or jimmy.

Just looks like Eric M knows how shroud, cunning, cut throat bill b. Is and bill does zero favors for anyone.

And Eric m pointed out that no one ever confirmed offering the pats high picks for jimmy. It's all been speculation

You're reading too much into that. Bill has a track record of sending players away to chit situations/teams when he doesn't like them but don't see that being the case with Jimmy.

I think he can see the team despite the record is trending in a positive direction with John and Kyle at the helm. He has a good relationship with Lynch and knows Kyle is a genius when it comes to X's and O's especially on offense. He knows we have the cap room and he knows we have draft capital to add guys around him. Sending him to an NFC team they play once every 4 years unless they meet in the SB is a smart move.

Im reading too far into this? Bill belichik likes to win, at all cost, including being labeled as a cheater. He aint sending Jimmy to the jaguars, cardinals etc, a QB away from contending.

It sounded like you were making it seem like Bill sent him to a crap situation on purpose. I think there's a middle ground there.

He sent him to a team they likely won't face often and one that's not a SB threat this year or likely next few years but he's also not sending him off to a total chit show. He knows the situation here despite the record is going in the right direction and he thinks Jimmy can win here or at least have success.

A top 5 pick is still plenty valuable. Will still be able to trade back and recoup the lost 2nd round pick. Lots of top 5 worthy prospects this year.
