I don't think we can assume we can trade down from whatever spot we're picking in...someone of value still has to be there. When you're picking #1 or #2 overall odds are that guy is available, especially if QBs get their value sky rocketing.

We secure #1(not sure how likely that is with Cleveland being so awful and us having some winnable games coming up) and whether someone wants Barkley or the top QB on their board those trade offers will come.

If we're picking at say #5 who will be there worth trading up for that someone may not have already traded up with a team in the top 4?

What we need is for the Saints to start losing again.

If you can't be a heterosexual man and admit Jimmy is one handsome looking dude then maybe you're afraid of your true feelings.

Im reading too far into this? Bill belichik likes to win, at all cost, including being labeled as a cheater. He aint sending Jimmy to the jaguars, cardinals etc, a QB away from contending.

It sounded like you were making it seem like Bill sent him to a crap situation on purpose. I think there's a middle ground there.

He sent him to a team they likely won't face often and one that's not a SB threat this year or likely next few years but he's also not sending him off to a total chit show. He knows the situation here despite the record is going in the right direction and he thinks Jimmy can win here or at least have success.

that is very true, didnt think of that. Definitely cant give him to the Jaguars, Cardinals, Miami (in house division), or even CLE. although people like to laugh at CLE, they have so many picks and have really good pieces in place to succeed next year. If they had Jimmy for a 2nd and Belichick knows Jimmy is really good, CLE could be contenders next year if they play the draft smart and spend some cash in FA

Quick feet, which is nice to see. Can't say that I care much for their choice in camp music though

I agree but the Texans and the Chiefs traded down to pick 10 and 12 this year to get their Qb Watson and Mahomes. So it's definitrl possible. And saints have a fairly rough schedule. Let's hope the ball doesn't bounce their way much
To those quoting shanny on the "I cant promise he will play this year" quote, i notice you conveniently left out what he said right prior "i cant promise he wont play this week".

This dude will be the starter by the Giants game.

I wonder if that's KS's playlist...

We'll see but I think you're reading too much into that other quote. He can't make the promise that he won't play this week because if CJ gets knocked out of the game they'll have no choice but to play Jimmy.

However choosing to play him and being forced to play him are two very different things.

Kyle is smart and he knows he can go 0-16 this year and not worry about his job at all. There's no reason to rush Jimmy out there without having him master the offense and play with a weak OL. Sit him as long as we can do it, let him master that playbook as best as he can and only send him out there if you're confident he knows the offense and the offensive line isn't a mess(or at least we have our starting tackles out there)

I think it meant he's one hit to CJ away from being the guy but we're going to take it slowly.

Best to hold him out the rest of the year. We'll be at full strength for him next year and he'll be ready to go.
