Mangina is so salty. Cris Carter as always is a dumbass. Can't wait to see Jimmy turn into a stud with Kyle and shut up all these bozos acting like he's just another Brady backup who sucks anywhere else.

The fanboy in me wants to see Jimmy unleashed this season but the more reserved side wants to see the niners wait until 2018 to play him. He has nine weeks of practice and film study to get a headstart on one of the NFL'S more complicated offensive systems. You use the 2018 off-season to improve the skill positions and offensive line. What to do...what to do?

I reckon it's best to wait for 2018. Get him better protection and another weapon or two.

In the end I think that's the smarter call. This season is pretty much dead now. By the time minicamps start, he will have a pretty good grasp of the offense. Rushing him out there now and your really only setting him up to fail.

I hope we wait but I think they'll play him eventually. As long as we wait til after the bye week it wouldn't be awful assuming at least Staley and Brown are out there.
Best thing would absolutely be to keep him out til next year when we can improve the OL and add some weapons for him while letting him really nail down the offense and really give him a chance to succeed

You guys keep talking about "athletic freaks," like when I talk about great athletes I'm just referring to combine numbers.
I'm talking about talent. When Steve Young can hit a specific molecule from 40 yards away while blindfolded, that's an athletic talent. When John Taylor can break 4 tackles after the catch, that's an athletic talent. When Jerry Rice can accelerate and leave people in the dust, that's an athletic talent.
When Chris Hogan runs into a vacated hole in the zone because of the play design killing the defensive play called and is wide open, that's not a talent.
Why is hogan not an athlete though? What about him doesn't make him very athletic? Isn't the combine where you determine who's the "athlete"? Hogan's nickname is 7-11 because he's always getting open lol.

Hogan is faster and stronger than Johnson but Johnson is the better athlete?
I am calling BS.
Hogan:
At his 2011 Pro Day, Hogan pumped out 28 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press. For reference, hundreds receivers have participated in the NFL combine since 2011, and none have matched Hogan's total on the bench.
40 Yrd Dash: 4.50
New England Patriots WR Chris Hogan is a freak athlete

Right I'm just not sure why hogan isn't a athletic WR?

Pats realized they werent gonna be able to keep him so Belichek who believes in Lynch and Shanny and thought it would be the best situation for Jimmy Gorgeous called the 49ers and said they were willing to trade him now.

IM calling BS on the bold. Bill knew Jimmy and what he is capable of and literally shipped him to the furthest place on the map away from new england to the team with the least amount of talent lol. Great move. Happy to have him tho!

You're reading too much into that. Bill has a track record of sending players away to chit situations/teams when he doesn't like them but don't see that being the case with Jimmy.
I think he can see the team despite the record is trending in a positive direction with John and Kyle at the helm. He has a good relationship with Lynch and knows Kyle is a genius when it comes to X's and O's especially on offense. He knows we have the cap room and he knows we have draft capital to add guys around him. Sending him to an NFC team they play once every 4 years unless they meet in the SB is a smart move.

This. I think he chose to put Jimmy is a position where long term there is a great chance for him to succeed.

I just see a terrible HC, DC and TE coach. He was so bad here.
