Got one dude(Vikes fan) telling me I should pump my breaks cuz I'm excited about Jimmy after being excited about Kap and that falling apart.

Jimmy has shown so much more than Kap ever has it's crazy. I'm keeping my expectations W/L wise low for this year as I don't think we're there on defense yet and the schedule is brutal this year but I can't wait til week 1. I don't know if we're going to win as that team is pretty stacked and we'll certainly be underdogs on the road...but boy would that be a great way to start the season. The pressure will certainly be on them.

I didn't even want Jimmy to start last year and subject him to the s**tty line and a couple of small squirrelly receivers. Didn't even think there was any point at 0-9.

5 straight win under his leadership at qb, surprised everyone in a good way. Temper the expectations with Jimmy...?

Nah. Nope!
Marsh:

""I already knew that was going to happen; I called it before anybody," Marsh said of Garoppolo's 5-0 finish as a starter. "I knew because I was with the Patriots and he would shred our defense every day. He'd shred the first team every day, and it looked no different than when Tom (Brady) was on the field. He's a much better athlete than Tom; he's super disciplined and works hard. I'm very happy to have him as my quarterback.""
Uh oh, she's a fan of Reuben. Aldon Smith/Colin Kaepernick 2.0? Haha

That stuff is such a joke when comparing Kaep's sudden downward spiral to all the optimism with Jimmy. It's like, where's the similarities other than both being QBs and second round picks?

That's about as silly as people saying Jimmy will bomb because Cassel and Mallett did when they get away from Bill.

Agreed. Kap never showed this much skill from the pocket. And yes, week 1 is going to be a though game. I also agree with keeping expectations low as I feel we still have pieces missing and the schedule is tough. As long as we finally beat Seattle this year I'll be happy. We've lost 9 straight to them and I'm sick of it.
Jimmy seems annoyed lol

I thought Kaep was progressing, but he never had the weapons he needed to take advantage of his skill set. Also, I thought Harbaugh was the QB whisperer with Luck as his college QB, he could turn Kaep into Steve Young 2.0. Now it's clear to me that Luck was developed by David Shaw, not Harbaugh. You look at what Harbaugh did at Michigan U. after he left us and his QB's there have been mediocre. Totally opposite situation now, where you have Kyle tutoring Matty Ice to be an elite QB and when Kyle leaves, Matty becomes luke warm. It's amazing what Jimmy has done, and I'm pretty confident, (much more confident than I was with Kaep) that Jimmy is the real deal, the real Franchise QB this team hasn't had since Steve Young. I'm also stoked about BeatHard. Kittle says Jimmy and BeatHard are very similar in that they can process very fast while in the pocket.

Another thing to add is look at what Kyle has done with different types of QBs. Didn't have tons of wins with all but all had career years with Kyle.

Hot take: NE defense was pretty average last year so was he really shredding them? (Half kidding, they're still an NFL defense.)

What weapons did he need? I dropped that narrative when Cam Newton balled out with Ted Ginn as one of his starting receivers. Gore, Boldin, Crabtree, VD, and an elite Oline should've been plenty. Kaep simply was below average. Jimmy is next level
