This. It's hard to imagine a better situation, quite possibly ever as far as a QB entering a new team and coaching staff.
Add in the opportunities in the draft to add young talent to an already young roster and the great weather in Cali year round paired with the social life and it should be one of the easiest decisions for any FA ever.

Probably the best FA QB situation since Brees to the Saints.

I would happily rescind my nicknames for this if that was to happen.
Steve Kerr thought a reporter was Jimmy G lol.

Clayton predicts tag for a year, then long-term deal (based on conversations in league circles).

I predict he is wrong.

It depends on Yee's strategy. He may force SF to use the tag to establish an official starting point. Once he's officially a top 5 paid QB, theyll have a 23-24 mil minimum to start the negotiation at.

Or SF and Yee can just skip the posturing and agree that he's probably at least worth 26 mil per year over 5 years on the open market, and just work out the guaranteed money. Id guess 70 mil guaranteed, with Paraag using loopholes to spread it around to keep the cap healthy.

That would be the smart thing to do for the niners.

You think there is a chance neither of those happens before FA starts?
With the tools Jimmy has been taught and the Head coach he now has, Garoppollo has a sure fire potential of being the next San Francisco Quarterback.

yes i am anxious about it. all i hear is how much the team wants him and how all parties are in love with each other so it should not be that hard to hammer out a deal before it gets to free agency and to avoid a tag. call him whatever but grant is right. you do not think free agents are not looking at this and are more likely to sign a multi year deal if they know jimmy is signed long term and not for one year with a tag. you can spin it however you want. but without jimmy we would be a place. no offense to the powers of lynch and kyle. where free agents would think twice to join.. and again if anyone can muck up a good thing. based upon recent history it would be this front office and ownership

Im not worried about the contract at all. Im more anxious to see what he can do with a full season and how DCs play him now that there is actual game film on him.

oh i agree on that to. i just can not get rid of the little voice back there saying.. if any owner can f**k this up. and yes you are right.. it is not going to be as easy with teams having a full off season just like we saw with ck. now we also hope we can counter that by giving him a better line. i am sorry but i think the tag for one year is bad. a tag for two years is tragic
