Also, maybe Im naive here but offer solutions. I have yet to see a single player offer any solution to the issues they protest about. If I'm wrong, feel free to correct me.

When Kap first kneeled the main thing most said around here was that he should put his money where his mouth is. He did. He has received little to no credit for it. Instead he catches blame for kneeling in the first place. He donated a million dollars and has done a variety of other community service that you can google.

Bennet is donating his 2017 endorsement money to chatities that help minority communities along with other charities.

I understand your point, however no matter what these guys do positively, everubody is going to focus on the protest itself. I havent heard a single person who disagrees with the protest offer up any solutions either other than to say "protest differently". In this day and age its easiest to just b***h.

Just want add a fact the NFL players have been arrested 855 times since 2000. That includes 215 DUI charges, 99 drug charges, 96 domestic violence cases and 71 assaults. It even includes two murders. They could start by cleaning up thier act first stop pointing fingers and start looking in the mirror. Players need to practice what they preach.

And through all these hundreds of (actual) criminal incidents not a single NFL fan threatened to boycott.

Well, now that we have gotten past the fact that the protest in and of itself was offensive and hurt the cause more than it help, we can actually discuss the issues at hand.

I actually don't agree that the problem in the black community is the 17 unarmed black men killed by police officers a year. So obviously, I don't have a solution to a problem that I don't think exists (I also have no solution to the lightning strike deaths in the country either, which again is 51 a year, damn I'm a broken record).

I think the problem is that black men don't stick around and raise there own kids. So how about instead of NFL players giving money and kneeling during our anthem maybe they invite a black man, who is busting his ass, and raising his kids to every game (pay for him and his families tickets, airfare, food and hotel) and praise him for his hard work. How about they change the narrative of the black community and make it a positive to be a hard working father that sacrifices his hard earned money to make sure his kids are good people. Condemn the thought one is a 'Boss' because he gets his, bangs b***hes, and doesn't give a f**k. That is one solution that could have a great effect on that community. Right now all these guys are telling black kids that they are victims. That no matter what they do they will fail unless some one stops the imaginary white racist. Show them that plenty of them have actually succeeded, and have failed many times along the way (like all of us do). And that success doesn't mean wealth, but being a good person who takes responsibility for all of his actions.

"Some Puerto Ricans feel like "second-class" citizens in wake of Maria"

"Here's What's Really Happening In Puerto Rico, Despite What Trump Is Saying
The president spent the day attacking his critics and saying Puerto Ricans "want everything to be done for them." Only 5% of people on the island have power, and couldn't see his messages anyway."

"Many Puerto Ricans — all US citizens — in San Juan and other parts of the island told BuzzFeed News on Saturday that they have not received help from federal or state agencies. Across the country, as of Saturday morning, the government says 45% of people have drinkable water. More than 11,000 people are in shelters. About 10% have cell phone service and about half of the supermarkets are open. One hospital is fully running, while 59 are partially available.

Cruz told BuzzFeed News on Saturday that her comments from earlier in the week — that people were "dying" because of bureaucracy — "weren't directed at anyone. They were the reality of what's happening in San Juan and Puerto Rico."

When told of Trump's comments, she said he's not trying to understand the US territory. "You have to understand our political history in order to say stuff like that and he doesn't understand that," she said. "All these years of 'self-government' under a Commonwealth which is like a walking daydream because our governor doesn't really rule us, the US tells him what to do."

About 25 minutes outside San Juan, in the town of Loiza, the situation is still dire.

Loiza is a poor, mostly Afro-Puerto Rican community of about 29,000 people on the coast. It's known for its music, culture, and 10-day-long epic party each summer."

So she is to say everything is fine and ignore the (second class) AMERICANS dying because our president wants to look good.

Second class citizens. We as Americans don't care, even when Americans are dying. We only want the credit for it or care about flags, fabric and materialism..

5% of the island has power but puerto ricans wants handouts! According to trump. The disconnection in this country is unreal..

"During World War II, Puerto Ricans served in every military branch of the United States. Puerto Ricans from the island served in the 65th Infantry Regiment, also known as the Borinqueneers, which participated in combat in the European Theater—in Germany and Central Europe."

The 65th Infantry Regiment, nicknamed "The Borinqueneers"[1] from the original Taíno name of the island (Borinquen), is a Puerto Rican regiment of the United States Army. The regiment's motto is Honor et Fidelitas, Latin for Honor and Fidelity. The Army Appropriation Bill created by an act of Congress on 2 March 1898, authorized the creation of the first body of native troops in Puerto Rico. On 30 June 1901, the "Porto Rico Provisional Regiment of Infantry" was organized.[2] On July 1, 1908, Congress incorporated the regiment into the Regular Army as the Puerto Rico Regiment of Infantry, United States Army.[3] On May 14, 1917, the Regiment was activated and additional men were assigned, with the unit being sent to serve at Panama.[3] On June 4, 1920, the Regiment was renamed 65th Infantry.[3] During World War II, the Regiment saw action throughout Europe, especially France and Germany, participating in Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno and Rhin.[4] Several Purple Hearts were handed posthumously to members of the 65th Regiment, and the Medal of Honor was granted to Capt. Eurípides Rubio, Héctor Santiago, Carlos Lozada and Fernando García.[5]"
