As per Bill Walsh philosophy. You let the man leave five years early than five years too late. Even though he still has "thread on the tires."

As per Ozzie Newsome philosophy. You collect on the compensatory draft pick.

Five year early? We playing a game of telephone here?

I do think we will feast in the comp pick department.

I don't see him as a must signed player going into 2022. Let him test the market. His value isn't what he thinks he is coming off a major injury. Maybe if reasonable Niners can match the other team.

And being a 29 yo RB.

His age is irrelevant. He has very little wear and tear on his body for a 29 year old.

29 yo RB with an injury history is irrelevant? On this team? Ok.

The point I was discussing has nothing to do with his injuries. Injuries are a concern. Him being 29 is not, because he hasnt had the amount of use a normal 29 year old has. That was all I meant.

I understand completely, but the point I was making is that average NFL players, particularly RBs and even more so guys who play gunner on ST and did dual duty in RB rotation before became a starter on a lot of different teams don't heal at the same rate as they approach 30 has everything to do with their age. I'd say bud that it's not the amount, but rather the type of use.

And that is totally fair. But if he does recover and looks like he is back to normal, I would hope age isnt the deciding factor in bringing him back or not. Leveon Bell type players fall off at 30 because they touch the ball 250+ times a year for half of a decade. Mostert doesnt have that type of history.

The 49ers are too busy signing scrub D-Lineman for pennies to sign their own guys. U HATE TO SEE IT
Kinda expected since McDaniels went there. Dolphins are in a position to roll the dice on Mostert at a higher price point than SF was able / willing to. Totally understandable from all perspectives.

Dang. Understand it from Raheem's perspective as well as the 49ers. But still, dang.
