Having Jimmy and now finding a gem in Mullens, our luck in finding a caretaker for the most important position in football surely is a blessing! One was a trade for a second round draft pick while the other was UDFA who's been getting better each game. We spent a second rounder and we found 2! Meantime teams spends enormous draft capital to find the "one" like the Rams and Eagles. Also, Look at the QB flops taken in the first in recent memories like Jamarcus, Blaine, Ponder, Akili of the world.

no one is giving us a first round or second round pick for this kid. i like him but it is hilarious how some over value our players

You were not, I like Jimmy as well But he has not performed well at all on the field at corner or safety so I would think you would like Nick Mullens a lot more performance wise then ward who has done nothing except get burned and get injured
You of all people would say something like, ward is a horrible player and a horrible pick. Anyone including some of our rookies and back ups are playing better than him so get rid of this guy right? Especially with his salary?

Why waste a high pick this year on a mediocre QB when you could use your pick to bolster the O line or the defense.
Fair enough, but Vance Joseph doesn't have that kind of time- IF he makes it to next season. If he does, he's going to want to load up on offense presumably. Put the best team around Keenum and see what happens from there.

Ok so far I've had nothing but praise for Nick... but something to think about...
He gets compared to Brett (not because of arm strength) but because of school and toughness. Will to win.
BUUUT, just watching old Farve youtube stuff... So far Nick also has Brett's WTF are you doing??! type decisions here and there.
So hopefully he grows out of them... no more mental lapses..and just put on a show going forward.

If Nick can stay health and Jimmy continues his injury prone career, kind of puts the team in a bind. Remember, Nick has had far less experience and exposure to the NFL, so you would expect him to make major improvement next year.

That's easy for us to say but we're not the staff that's going to get fired lol.

Unless the 49er's can improve their offensive line where the QB isn't taking a beating every game, it would be best to keep Nick Mullens. CJ hasn't proven that he's capable of taking over and being competitive enough to win games.
We don't know just how durable Jimmy is but it doesn't matter if he's getting hit a lot. No QB in this league can take the kind of punishment that the 49er's QB's has been taking and survive a whole season. It would be a HUGE gamble to get rid of Mullens.

Jimmy Johnson just said on pregame that the Giants need to trade for Mullens.
Edit: Basically if they decide to trade for a QB it needs to be Mullens.

Imagine we did that and he had more success than JG. It would be stuff of legend.

Nick has a tell. He sticks out his tongue slightly when he's going to throw most the time he throws. He doesn't do this if he isn't going to throw.
ward seems to be more versatile than nick
