You'd like to see him get rid of it faster on the game ending play but... Outside of that, there were no turnovers or other major mistakes he was at fault for. We didn't have much of a running game and we were without each of our three best offensive linemen for various stretches of the game.

i understand the injuries but man we have to run the ball against anyone. we can not be so arrogant to assume we can win sunday cuz the cards are below par

The chargers were stacking the box breida and morris were hurt. Breida even admitted he couldn't cut in an interview last week. Im not sure what to say, injuries are sapping this team of its ability to win games. I agree on the cards thing, it isn't a guarantee.

On a side note, I'm getting pretty sick and tired of the injury bug destroying this team every year(atleast it seems like it).

it really does feel that way. i guess teams will stack the box cuz they do not fear cj or our guys who are supposed to catch the ball. taylor has been a major meh this year and i am underwhelmed but not shocked by the regression. as i see it . of garcon. but we did not need josh so f**k it

No one is "excited" about how he played. To say he did not play well by any stretch of the imagination yesterday is absurd. He played fine. Not amazing. Not bad. Fine. Like I said last night, you could make a logical argument that yesterday was the best game a Niner quarterback has played all season long.

just because you made an argument yesterday doesnt mean its true sir lol. please explain how he played better than Jimmy did his first two games this year? he threw two picks yesterday that he lazerbeamed off of peoples hands. thats what Kap used to do before he became a vegan and was breaking peoples fingers and his throws seemed to sail on him most of the time. CJ was ok but theres no way he outplayed Jimmy's stupid ass

Lazerbeamed off peoples hands LOL. Cmon now.

How did he play better than Jimmy in his first 2 games? Really simple actually.

VIKINGS: Jimmy was horrible this game. He threw 3 picks. He completed less that 50% of his passes. He was 3 for 9 on third down. His QBR was 10. All that being said, he had a chance to tie the game at the end and threw an awful interception Not sure how any reasonable person can look at this game and say Jimmy outplayed CJ yesterday. He didnt.

LIONS: Jimmy statistically was ok here. Not good, but ok. But he was inaccurate all game long. Even a lot of completions were bad passes. He held the ball too long and took terrible sacks all game. He missed multiple wide open receivers that would have been big plays/touchdowns if he threw a semi accurate ball to said receivers instead of throwing the ball elsewhere. He was terrible on 3rd down again (2 for 7 and 2 horrendous sacks that were on Jimmy). Lucky we won the game because it wasnt just the defense that was putrid in the 2nd half. The 4th quarter consisted of 2 completions, a fumble and a bonehead interception that would have cost us the game if not for a miracle penalty on the other side of the field.

I really shouldnt have had to write all that. Jimmy was not good the first 2 games. It is not a stretch in the slightest bit to say CJ had the best QB performance of the season so far. And all I said was you could make a legitimate argument that it was the case.
Beathard is a beast🍺
What we are seeing out of CJ is the experience with the offense after 2 offseasons and a handful of starts. He may not wow you with lighting quick release, accuracy under pressure, like Jimmy.

What CJ lack is what Jimmy has, the nuisance know how of quarterbacking.

What Jimmy lacks is what CJ has, the experience and time in the offense.

Maybe they can get their s**ts together next year

Yeah the garçon regression is to be expected at his age. Taylor I am a bit surprised, I wonder how much the offseason back injury is affecting him.

Yeah I expect teams will force CJ to beat them. Well I don't think Josh Gordon would have been the difference here tbh, this team has a ton of problems(He would help though). Honestly I feel good about the offensive core, if it weren't for bad luck injuries to jerrick, and Jimmy we would be more then capable on that side.

Its the defense, the talent level isn't acceptable. The defense core is incomplete.

Going into the game yesterday, the 49ers were second in the NFL for rushing yards per game.

#OverreactionMondays
most of us are just excited he did not stink up the joint. most of his mistakes were not on him. i said most.. and at least he did put the team in a spot to win. now sad to say.. just like last year under his play and with almost the same team. we again found a way to lose.

An interception with three minutes left in the game.
it may not have been on him. but it was what it was and we saw the result. point taken. i just think we are stuck with him for the rest of the year? he would have to get hurt or just play horrible sunday in the first half to get the kid in??

I was happy with his play compared to what I have seen. But I am not going to say the offense was good enough to win, that certainly isn't on CJ alone, Kyle abandoned the run and made some suspect calls at the end of each half.

do you think the teams will continue to stack that box because. they do not fear cj or the wide outs.. now when i say they do not fear cj or the wide outs. that is just my opinion so feel free to phrase your response. if you choose to do one. anyway you want

I am not sure. Did Kyle abandoned the run because of the stacked box? The 49ers had the the second best rushing game in the NLF going into that game. Breida too injured?
I don't know anything about anything, but CJ looked better than JG. JG seems to have regressed. I don't know if it's because he understands the concepts of the playbook more, but when they get into the redzone, JG seems to be locking on a single target. And he holds onto the ball far too long. CJ looked decisive and confident. Maybe it was the tougher teams JG has played, but the Chargers ain't no slouch.

What do you mean? He has plenty of talent.

He does, but I wouldn't call it elite talent. Imagine if a number one pick had his attitude and work ethic etc.

If CJ keeps improving and playing like he did yesterday, I would hate to see him go to another team via a trade.

Toughness. Can throw the ball with the best. Takes the hits. And did you see the escape ability like Steve Young in a collapsing pocket yesterday
