So did I. Sometimes we forget that these guys are kids that have become over night millionaires. Doesn't change the fact that he made a bad mistake but it's easier to understand you you put yourself In his shoes. The trick is leaning and not doing it again. I'm pulling for the kid, he seems like a good person that is going to have to decide who he is going to be moving forward.

The kid was easily a top 3 consensus pick. Our own Peters wanted him at 2. He ended up going 31st. Here's the differences in total salary plus signing bonus.

3 49ers Solomon Thomas - $28,169,295 ($18,617,459)
31 49ers Reuben Foster - $9,048,638 ($4,711,527)

Granted, there were concerns over his shoulder too so the immaturity, drugs and poor life skills and choices all played a role together in the drop. But it also played a role in Paraag adding drug language to his contract, now costing him another $2.5M.

So altogether, so far, he's probably cost himself $21.6M.

Is it drugs or just following the rules? I'm just not okay with blanket statements.... because you need to include prescription drugs in that bad category (Brett Favre).

For now, any drugs that are deemed illegal by the NFL. Simple.
