Kicker Robbie Gould

It's funny everybody is whining about him today and yet I thought the rookie kicker was better even after losing vs Seattle and everyone was jumping down his throat.

And our lack of confidence in our kickers makes us go for it on 4th inside of what should be field goal range

Dude, people need stfu with this nonsense. His 51 yard field goal into the wind/rain got tipped. Tucker barely made it from 49 without a tip.

Not disagreeing.....but they paid him a ton of money to make kicks, and he hasn't. Don't care about the reasons why
Tucker piped it

Agreed. And he didn't barely make it. He crushed it.

If we had a kicker like Tucker. We would've gotten those 3 points at the end of the half. And kicked a field on that final drive when we were on their 35.

Sucks. Kicker is something great teams don't waste time worrying about.

Kick was tipped.
Robbie just needs to get healthy before the playoffs get here

So we are complaining about his play from earlier in the year because of a kick that got tipped? What does that have to do with today though?

If we go with Robbie and lose in the playoffs cuz he misses a game winning kick, folks will blame Kyle for sticking with Robbie. If we roll with Chase and lose in the playoffs cuz Chase misses a game winning kick, folks will blame Kyle for not having confidence in Robbie. Damned if he does, damned if he doesn't.

I don't think anyone would ever blame Kyle for moving on from Gould, who is missing as much as he makes it, right now.

Frustrating. Oh well. Even losing this game I feel good about the Niners: I think they steamroll the Ravens if they meet again

I want revenge against Harbaugh and Ray Lewis for the Superbowl.

We sign Gore for a postseason contract and let him run it in from the 4 like HE SHOULD HAVE

And, btw F**k you Crabtree

Bring in Chase Mcglaughlin permanently.

Some of that is on Robbie, some of that is on the fact that we had multiple long snappers.

Reliable kickers are hard to come by. Robbie has been reliable before this year, he may get back to being more consistent or not. But what truly tells us Chase is a better option? He has folded under pressure already.

He made a kick from the same spot just to get it to OT. Also, what tells us Chase is any worse?

Chase missed 1 kick which was indeed a really costly and badly timed one. But he hit most of the rest of the stuff and Gould has been missing wide and coming up way short all year. Yes early on the snap and hold was a big issue for this team. Still Gould has not played well at least this year when you really look at it overall.
Did we cut Chase, or is he still on the 53, just not dressing? If we still have him, I would keep him on the 53, and have him as insurance if Gould isn't right. Go into next season with Chase+Gould battling it out, and if it is even, then call the Bears up and offer them Gould for a late round pick, and roll with the kid Chase.

We need a new kicker, neither of those guys are the answer
Can we move this to the NFL Thread because he will be cut tomorrow.

AB, what is the cap ramification of cutting this bum?

No he won't. They aren't taking a 7 mil cap hit.

He will be the 9ers kicker in 2020.
