Have said before, once Foster got back from suspension, if Smith still isn't available even at backup, he'll be cut.

Hate to say this but foster is a little fragile. Having a healthy smith won't be a bad thing. Lol @ a healthy smith.

as much as he's sucked for basically being hurt ( I don't think hes good regardless) there's no reason to cut him this yr. They will eat more dead money then they will save. It's not like we have some young guy that could fill that roster spot anyway. Lee had his moments but overall didn't look like he belonged out there. Plus Coyle is already gone for the yr.
He's not gonna get cut this yr. Next yr his ass is grass.

Haha. I am wrong my words.. lol. He should pay back to the 49ers in cap space. 49ers should save the $$$ in the future if Foster will have the contact in 2 or 3 years left then give him the moneys and stay to the 49ers team.

Exactly. And knowing Saleh, he's going to do everything to get his guy out there. Don't be surprised if he becomes our base SAM taking over for Mark Nzeocha.

I don't know how good Smith is since I've never really seen him play. He's kind of like the tough guy in high school that got his reputation in the 3rd grade but nobody has actually seen him fight. I don't want to see him take reps away from Warner. Use him as a backup. Warner is playing well and only will get better with more experience.
