Oh man if he had to suddenly return back home after getting to Tampa, and not trying to speculate anything, but I sure hope his wife isn't having trouble with the same thing she had last year. That would suck something awful.

He will give you six good games.
I wonder if he's considering retirement. He's had a long history of concussions.

Or his sister...she wasn't supposed to live this long.

I've been fully prepared for this one esp. now he's got his house made and wants to start a family.

Nothing wrong with making family a priority. People make those decisions like these in professions other than football every day. However, that doesn't mean businesses don't seek out those who can make their business a priority. I feel the world for him as someone who wants to prioritize his family, as I have done at certain times during my own career and he should if there's a problem going on back home.

As a rabid Niner fan, I want the organization to seek out those who have the luxury of getting out to the field their #1 priority and have the physical fortitude to do it.
Agreed.

Nice post, I'm guessing at problems with his sister who he is really close with who has cerebral palsy.

I have no issues with him missing a game to tend to important issues, it's not like it's the Superbowl.

He balled out last time he played after a family emergency.

Hopefully everything is ok, FAMILY is what matters most, not a dumb football game.

Generally I would agree with you, but this isn't just some dumb football game. These dudes are getting paid millions of dollars to play 16 weeks a year. Missing one game is a big deal at this level. When teams lose it could have a huge ripple effect in the careers of others.

Outside of death or dying of an immediate family member, dude should be on the field. You don't miss games because someone is having a baby, feels ill or just has a case of the blues.

The guy once played on the same day his baby died. I'm not going to doubt his commitment to the team.

How quickly people forget. Either a case of bad memory or no empathy.

Welp, there goes that theory.

I only remember parts of that story. How old was he/she?

Newborn, iirc

Bigger issue to me is to default to something bad with our players. Like if he isn't playing, he isn't committed to the team, has other priorities, etc. I have two options though. Bad memory was one of them.
