After almost 2 weeks of getting obliterated, I expect a better showing from Saleh. I know hes not working with the best, but thats what great coaches do, they bring out the best with what they have and honestly I haven't seen much of that. Hope he has a better game plan this week with everything almost on the line.

I like Saleh but he's never shown that he is really creative. You don't see a lot of disguised blitzes and stunts. Some but not a lot. He's more of a stick to basics guy. He has a system he believes in and that's what he wants his players to believe in.

Like Brown makes a nice play on 3rd down underneath.. then gets burnt somewhere else.

Mustapha took a horrible angle at the LOS (might have been on that 20 yard TD run).

I don't know what to feel... We've seen this for a few years now from them. But we've also seen Lenoir grow into his position after some struggles years back.

Youth. We are dealing with youth.

I'd say that past play call to end the game was creative in that situation

I've since cut them some slack. They have to be mindful of the Bears very good run game, plus Caleb's running scrambling ability and the arm strength on the run. Can't go after just one aspect of the Bears offense, they have to be discipline on all. Puts a lot of stress on the young guys. They certainly made mistakes but fought through it. Very similar to what the Bears defense went through with our offense.

In all fairness, though we're probably comparing apples to oranges, they put up 440 total yards against us on Sunday. In their last two wins against the Packers and Eagles they put up 425 and 400.

Yup. Even if the Bears had guys open, dropping 8 into coverage can completely throw off an inexperienced quarterback like Caleb. He also had nowhere to run given 8 guys in front of him.

I think offense is way easier to scheme up with lesser talent. Top defense just flat out requires some stud players. How many guys on this current defense would start for most NFL teams?

Lenoir is the only lock.

Winters, Green and Huff for a few teams. That's it. Guys like Bethune, Collins, Stout and some others might get there eventually but not this year.

Why are we not going after Justin Simmons and Diggs. We have the sorriest safeties in the NFL.

I agree. I love Saleh but his defenses are getting tourched like nothing we've seen before. He's not a great schemer. It's insane how they are letting teams pass all over them with zero answers. It's a miracle if the other team has to punt. We only seen our punter once since December but how many times have we seen the opposing punter? Like once or twice?

I know our good players are out and I get it we should be ranked bottom half of the league but we shouldn't be this bad. we literally rely on the other team dropping passes or throwing inaccurate passes. That's the only way we are getting stops and it's pathetic.

I don't know if this is true but I heard on the last play of the Bears game both LBs were supposed to blitz but they chose not to. I thought that was a great play call by Saleh but if that's true the LBs should get the credit.

I said he doesn't do that stuff very often. Nice that he finally did it when it counted but maybe a few more changeups eaqrlier in the game would have kept Williams from throwing for 330 yards and the Bears piling up 440 for the game.

I thought I heard it was the players that decided to drop into coverage and that it was not something Saleh told them to do on that play. But I guess this is something that Saleh lets his players do if they notice something.

THIS is a point worth remembering as we chew our nails to the nubs. Packers and Eagles. Eagles...the team with the "awesome" defense. I know we need more and better from our D, but the Bears offense isn't a joke.

Also not sure what people expect to see against a top offense without our starting:

EDGE x2 (Bosa and Mykel)
MLB
CB #2
Nickel
Rotational DL (White, who exited the game)

The defense is what it is. Our only hope is that they can play a little better assuming Green, Stout, and White are healthy. Hope they find a role for Kendricks, soon. I've also been pleasantly surprised with the run defense these last two games against elite rushing attacks.

ya agreed run D is good. The issue is i dont think this D could even be average for the playoffs we cant have it as bad as last week but this isnt on Saleh or coaching or GM etc. just too many injuries and asking really young guys to step up i cant really blame them either.
The communication on defense has been abysmal from the moment Fred got hurt. The defense gets beat more often by guys simply not doing their job than the lack of talent.
