I agree, schedule will inflate defensive numbers. However I think it is the defense that if this team wins, is why it will happen. Not sold on the OL or on the receiver corp. I don't think personally this is a top tier team and if with their schedule, games are close, that will tell us a lot. If they can barely squeak pass teams on their schedule, come the playoffs, IF they make it there, I would anticipate the Niners going home after the wild card or division round. I see this as a transition year . . . and I don't think the team overall is a top tier team (top 5 in the NFC or NFL). I hope I am wrong. Defense may allow us to win with our schedule, but I have plenty of worries about the offense. Nervous about this year.

This is why you bring back Robert Saleh! The Niners lost this exact game last year. But this is a new @49ers team!
Hell yeah Nick Bosa! pic.twitter.com/u7BT9Zhzj6
Robert Saleh is great, but this is a dumb take imo. I mean they had a game winning drive last year because Bosa was out with injury during the last drive. This time Bosa is there and he makes a game winning play. Do these guys even watch games lol....
Awesome play on so many levels, three come to mind…
Mark Sanchez butt fumble type play for Sammy, his history of poor mechanics was a contributing factor… poor ole USC QBs and their bad luck in the NFL, spoiled children don't always get their way. watch him wind up for the pitch, dip the ball down below his belt line, if he keeps the ball up to his upper chest and just draws his elbow back he gets the pass off… in the clutch, when he had to rip, he went back to his childhood delivery but couldn't get away with it this time, thank you Sammy!
Mykel Williams is a humanitarian, or so it seems, and it showed in the game what a selfless player he is… he gets the attention of 3 seacawk OL so that Bosa can get one on one on the outside… if you watch this kid over the game they sacrificed him many times on pass rush to free up Bryce and the Lil Bear for one on ones… impressed with this kid, he did a decent job in the run game as well, very strong bull rush but needs to develop some shimmy and wiggle… nothing but up up up arrow for him will only get better. Is he even 21 years old yet, still a pup
Bosa one on one, able to push OT back just enough to impinge Sammy's wind up deliver and smack the buttocks of his tackle… sniff sniff me not sorry him… not sure why Bosa is credited for a sack on this play? Nick is still a beast and so glad he will retire a 9er one day

We don't win this game without him. The D looked so much better than previous years.

The schedule is only 3 games different than all the other teams in NFC West. I don't think it's really going to make a huge difference.

Lol already moving the goalposts? Did we have any good defensive performances last year? We played some terrible teams including: pats, jets, dolphins, bears, cowboys.... I don't remember many games where our defense looked as good overall as it did vs Seahawks.

When a QB has a forced fumble in the pocket like this a sack is usually credited to the closest player or player that caused the fumble.

A warm blanket. The sense of calm to close out games was sorely missed.

I was so effin wrong about this. Screw schemes they can be learned, his leadership and energy he gives off to defense is crazy. And he's also someone who can mentor and grow these young pups.

This defense is dramatically better. Some of that is the growth of another year of some young players. Investing hugely in the draft in high picks on defense and a trade like Bryce Huff. But a huge amount is Robert Saleh. Truly one of the best defensive coordinators in the league. His schemes are outstanding. His guys come prepared. They are flying all around with intensity. They really believe in the guy and that makes a difference. Thankfully we have him. Because defense is carrying us early season. With the offense injuries and inconsistency and kicker struggles and turnover. It's amazing this team is 2 - 0. Defense is largely the reason IMO.

Night and day difference between this year and the last 3. Guys swarming to the ball. Fewer missed tackles. Guys in position to make plays.
