Absolutely!
Been saying that for 2 years now and I will tell you why:
1) Mike Shanahan is a billion times better HC in the NFL than Chip Kelly ever will. For starters, the guy is a Super Bowl winning coach.
2) He can bring in Kyle as a package who is an outstanding OC as seen from his impressive work with the Skins and now the Falcons.
3) He can also groom Kyle to be a future HC in due course when he is ready.
4) Mike Shanahan has a billion times more street cred than Chip Kelly. In other words, at a time when zero decent coaching staff want to join this 9ers sh*thole, people will be much more willing to consider the 9ers cos they trust and respect Mike Shanahan. You know how they view Kelly? Chip Kelly is only some gimmicky college football coach who invents alternative meal plans for his players plus his teams are always soft as munchmallow. In short, the guy has zero substance, is all talk and not much else.
Given the weight of Mike Shanahan, right away he will be able to steady the ship somewhat to begin this very tough and challenging total rebuild.

Couldn't agree more. I'm not against Chip totally. I just don't see any credible DC's willing to work with him. After his failure to get anyon decent last year and our current struggles, I can't see anyone better coming. I see a revolving door (and poor quality) like we had at OC for almost a decade. I believe defense wins Superbowls and unless they can get a big time DC Chip has to go.

When you go to the store you check the shelf life of the food you are buying, if the expiration date has passed you don't buy it. Shanahan's shelf life is way past, forget about it.

Are you referring to age?
You do know that most of the current top coaches in the league are the oldest right? Bill Belichick (64), Pete Carroll (65), Bruce Arians (64), etc, etc.

Chip can literally win the College Football NC. Superbow though, not a chance in hell.

I totally agree. His system is built and only works in college ball as proven before at Oregon. At the pro level, he is simply reduced to a gimmicky coach with no substance. He will just get pushed around. The fact that even Tomsula could win more games than Kelly is simply revealing and frightening.

I'm talking about Juice or Electricity, the three coaches you mentioned still have it, Shanahan's on empty.

Bruce Arians? The Arizona coach? Who is right now 4-6-1 with the #20 scoring offense? FWIW most of the top coaches are in there 50s not 60s.

This. Kyle Shanahan will be a HC somewhere next year, not an OC for anybody. He'll try and pull his Dad along with him. He's an interesting thought, but so is David Shaw.

We can recycle all the coaches we want...we can't sustain success with bozos running the franchise.

Honestly, I think it's very unlikely Chip Kelly is gone after this year. Unless he leaves on his own for college. Which would make us look very, very bad.
Unless Shanahan stays in Atlanta for a third year, I don't think him coming here is likely. I like the idea, though.
