I was very pleased when Denver won their last game and dropped down, (now Seattles), 2 spots in the 1st round of the from #3 to #5 overall. As it might've taken them out the running for the 2 best defensive prospects in the draft class depending on how many QB's go first, ( hopefully just 2 ) Imo the first 4 selection are definitely blue chipper players, where as the next couple not as much potentially.

2 maybe 3 quarterbacks are going before our pick so we're either getting Carter, Anderson or Bresee. Pete also likes Bryce Young a lot but knowing him he'll probably trade back for a running back or backup long snapper. They finally struck gold on a draft class last year here's hoping they continue to make wise picks. I mean if we can get another Woolen in the late rounds great.

The 49ers are set for the future with Purdy. Does he make up for the Trey Lance trade? No, but it's a step in the right direction. Kyle Shanahan is a great coach but I don't even think he can make Trey Lance an NFL caliber quarterback. Good for North Dakota State but his weak game doesn't translate to this league. What was Lynch thinking when he traded 3 firsts and a third for Lance? There's high school quarterbacks that show better pocket poise. I mean you could've drafted Micah Parsons and saved all those picks.

I thought the last post was bad.

Football is not for everyone, I guess Lmao

Ok my bad Trey Lance is better than Montana, Mahomes, Steve Young and Marino. Does that make more sense to people like you?

What is cringeworthy about it? This is rich coming from a fan whose team threw big money at Matt Flynn only to have him ride the bench. Wait, maybe you weren't a seahawk fan or better yet, a 12 yet. The "12s" seem to be hanging their hat on the whole Lance situation as some way to discredit Lynch, the front office and Shanahan.

Knocking the trace (essentially 2 first round picks and 1 pick swap) when you're "genius" GM and Petey drafted guys like Eskridge, McDowell, Marquis Blair, and numerous other busts. Not to mention the Jamal Adams trade, the Clowney trade, Jimmy Graham, Percy Harvin.

I'll ask again, what is your and your fellow "12s'" obsession with Trey Lance? I can't imagine letting another teams backup QB situation permeating my mind to the point where it's "cringeworthy"

Did you not root for Mr. unlimited for a decade? Mr. "Eat the ball". Mr. Dangerwhich. Mr. High knees and king of cringe himself?

Let's hope the SeaClucks have an "Aaron Curry" type of 2023 draft.
You know what's awesome? I'll tell you what's awesome. There's a thread over at the home of the enemy, Seahawks.net, which is titled "I Love Our Chances Against the Niners." It was started by "Well Known Member" (Seahawks.net version of 49ers Webzone Veteran status) The Legend of Boom. This thread, started on January 9th, brought on a flurry of responses. It went for eight pages, as Seahawks fans chimed in about how they thought they really had a chance against the 49ers. The posting continued with upbeat responses for DAYS.

Then, on gameday, January 14th, after the game started, came one final response. It was from a fan called "JoeBart," and the time-stamp was 4:49 PM. The final message reads: "Chances weren't so great." After that? RADIO SILENCE. The thread DIED. All that false hope and bravado? GONE! The hopes and dreams of every Hawks fan died with it.

Do you know how that makes me feel? After Russell Wilson and that CHUMP Richard Sherman toyed with 49er fans for years? It makes me feel DARN GOOD. I hope it makes all of you feel good as well. Because we deserve it after the years of abuse we took from Cheat Carroll. Not only that, but we deserve more. I hope Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch smash that franchise for years to come.

It's cute how they think calling us Santa Clara is an insult. Santa Clara is pretty nice actually, and it's home of the Niners
I was just tired of hearing the "seattle is playing with house money", as they had a bad season and had low expectations.
What about losing your 1st and 2nd string QB and having to rely on the last pick in the draft to continue your season from week 13? Haven't lost a game since week 8.

I saw that post and laughed and laughed over how the 12s, esp Frodosfinger thought this was going to be an easy victory. One do**hbag even tried to revive a thread from 2014 titled 'The Santa Clara Implosion is Imminent' That died real quick. Then there's SantaClaraHawk who's Trey Lance thread has got to 12 pages. They have nothing good to say they keep bringing up meaningless crap. Forget the 12s because they are now down to half a dozen. I love it !

SEA had a great year. Most on here said they will be 'tanking' for a top pick. That take was shown 1000% wrong. They developed Geno into a Pro Bowler. He's not going anywhere I wouldn't think. They got a stud RB. Lot of young players showed out in their secondary. They enter the draft loaded looks like they will be picking #5 overall and pick 20 also. Probably our best looking rival at this point with ARZ and LAR a bit in disarray.

They had a good start but they fell off for the second half of the year, and would've missed the playoffs entirely if not for the bs 7 seed the NFL added for greed. Says a lot about the current product of the game when 3 wins in 2 months is still good enough to earn you a trip to the tournament

Judging by his appearance, he might have been only 7 or 8 years old back then.

I think ESPN ranks em the #1 rook class in all of the NFL. Hard to tell cuz it's a paywall piece but they do title it SEA crushed the draft, based on this seasons results. Their rook crop was pretty insanely good along with solving the QB piece of the equation where most thought they would be lacking this year. I agree they fell off in the 2nd half. I would also say these rooks should improve going forward into year 2. They had 2 rooks starting vs us at OT, as well as a rook RB and rooks all over the secondary, including a potential DROY.
So what holes do the seahawks have? Upon further review, they have a lot.

WR: Metcalf looks like he's off the roids and slower now. Plus they're going to have to pay him big bucks very soon. Lockette is getting slower as years go by but still is a threat.
QB:...?....
RB...CHECK
TE: CHECK
DEF:....a bunch of holes. Injuries. Pete loves to draft Defense
Coaching: Pete is getting old. How many years does he have left?

I think the big issue they have and Pete brought it up himself.. you want those big difference makers on the defensive front. You don't want em in the secondary, which they have now.. Secondary is nice but you just can't impact the game from corner the way you can from the front seven wrecking the OL like we see from our guys Armstead, Bosa, etc. They don't have those type of guys on our level I bet that's their offseason focus.
