I only read the first page, but I don't see anyone complaining that they could have had Kaepernick for a 6th round pick instead.

Just think, if that dummy just stood up for the national anthem the 49ers would probably be sitting pretty with two 1st round picks.

That is a ridiculous trade. Are you friggin kidding me? You NEVER trade that for a guy who isn't your future. They better hope they can trade him to someone else at the end of the season.

It probably means they don't expect Bridgewater to be able to play next season as well. This reminds me of Raiders trading for Carson Palmer after Jason Campbell got injured. The difference is a healthy Bridgewater is not necessary worse than Bradford, but Carson Palmer has always been better than Jason Campbell.

I doubt it. If this controversy doesn't happen the Vikings may have given Kap a little more consideration but I still think they ultimately roll with what they just did.

Probably the playoffs (NFCCG for the 2nd maybe?) ... They made the playoffs last year, so it's not a stretch to imagine them making it again this year... They won't sniff the SB though, so why give up that much?
Sam Bradford has an NFL career passer rating of 81.0. Shaun Hill's career passer rating is 85.2. ~ Viking Fan

I was wondering that as well, but if that's the case you're screwed either way. Why not put your team in position to maybe grab Watson? Without that pick they have no chance of getting a QB in the first.

Is this a serious post? We couldn't get a 4th round pick for him before the preseason (and before the socks and anthem) and his play in preseason didn't do him any favors. The Broncos wanted us to pay a lot of his salary on top of the signing bonus he has already been paid. Even if Kaepernick stood for the anthem, the Vikings would not have given us a 3rd round pick for him and they probably wouldn't have been interested at all.

Kaepernick's injury clause would still have been a major hurdle in trading him to the Vikings because they wouldn't have wanted to risk getting stuck with his contract once Bridgewater comes back.

I have no clue man. I really wonder what the hell their GM was thinking.

I guess so.

I mean over the past two year Bradford's health has progressed while Kap is coming off three surgeries. Bradford's play has shown signs of life while Kap has shown he seems to be having a hard time adjusting.

The team has a new stadium and have to keep generating buzz. It's a good move, Bradford has some ability.
